I've got that book. Never had a bi Turbo though so not sure why!In case you’ve not got it, you might like to add this book to your Christmas list. Covers the whole biturbo era, including the 222 models.

ThanksSimple - it’s on Amazon.
It look like the sister to my car... Also Dazzling Black with black interior. Mine was a 1991 222 4v. originally delivered to Japan. I bought mine in Germany in 2002. Sold it 3 years and 65.000 kms. later. I really REALLY miss that car.Maserati booked purchased and on its way
I am somewhat shocked at how this car is driving, absolutely loves the open road and purrs along beautifully
I got a paint correction and ceramic coating done a few days ago and as you can see, the paintwork has come up beautifully.

Thanks. Im located on the Gold Coast in QLD AustraliaCongrats! Where are you located?
Mine also was a Japan-delivered car. I bought it with an Original 46,000kms and in stunning condition, but even better than that was the Mechanical maintenance that had been done has kept this car driving beautifully and reliably. It look like the sister to my car... I took it for a 2hr drive yesterday around the mountains and it was pure magic. The Highway (110-120kmh) driving was like meditation. It sat so quietly on the road and was just a pure joy to drive.
I'm sure you miss yours, as I would if mine ever leaves the garage!!
Music to my ears. I bought a black/beige 1988 222 (first series body) in Munich just before Christmas. After a few houres on a VERY cold Autobahn, The head gaskets blew, and we lost the heat in the car. A terrible experience. And I was 20 yrs old. And not too much experience driving in Germany... I was so disappointed, I almost threw the golden clock out of the window. The car ran bad too. One waste gated stood wide open we found out later so not strange really. I decided to buy another black Biturbo while on the way home. So before north of Germany, we went west and into Bielefeld (while driving with a broken head gasket, no heat and repeatedly filling the radiator up with water from bottles in the back seat!!), we finally arrived after going about 600 kms at only 80-90 kph. in the broken Biturbo. (Saturday morning, what else could we do?)... And what we then came to...!! A Dazzling black metallic 1991 222 4v. (2. facelift like yours) with black full Connolly leather and the black rear lights. It did have a collission damage, and I got it cheap. But MAN!! This car... WHAT A DRIVE. The torque was instant, and pulled like a freight train from only 1500 rpms... The smell, the sound, the feeling. I will never forget that. This time I did NOT attempt to throw the gold clock out of the window. Instead, I found the nearest gas station. Washed it, vacuum cleaned it, polished the cold clock. This car met my Masersti expectations and was the kind of enjoyment you get from ypur new SR today. The Getrag gearbox was also a huge improvement over the 222's ZF box. Owner said he had had 290 kph. on the needle in Belgium with it. It sounded a bit optimistic, but I did believe him. We left the disasterous 222 in his garage (he said goodbye to a black damaged 222 and ended up with a new also broken black 222 ) and we ran home to Oslo 23rd if December. We got snow at the top of Germany and it was a bit "interesting" on summer tires. But we made it. I spent the winter fixing the body and it was an AMAZING car. Later, I also had a few Ghiblis which were more "exclusive" at the time, but the 222 4v. still felt more unique and special. I don't miss the Ghiblis at all. Just had to share my little story. My buddy even did two videos which was uploaded several years later to Youtube when Youtube came.

Yes and I still remember the intense smell of mildhew in the 222. But it was too late to cancel the sales. They had "Abgemeldet" the car and put on export registration... Will NEVER buy a Biturbo unseen again. NEVER.This is awesome. Thanks for sharing and I could only imagine the stress you would have been feeling driving that blown motor
Yeh that sucks!!! I do feel extremely grateful for the condition, low milage, and previous ownership of this car!!Yes and I still remember the intense smell of mildhew in the 222.
