FFS, looks like they are going to go ahead and vote in a madman - the Americans would rather have that than a woman

Had four tons of top soil delivered on Monday and foolishly spread it around the front garden. I should have waited for the results as now I'll be digging the bunker!

Same as the UK and Brexit , don't underestimate how ****** off the working class are , same as the UK they've seen decades of job losses while the rich get richer so they're voting for change

I'm not surprised at all, I'd think he can only be good news for US -UK trade agreements

There'll be a lot of open mouths in America at breakfast

True enough but a lot of those unskilled jobs are gone, never to return, and it's going to get worse with autonomous vehicles. Think of all of the taxi, lorry, bus driving jobs that will disappear in the next 10 years. There is a real question about what we do as a nation. Pay people a real wage to not work, or work less?

I had a feeling this would happen. After what happened with Brexit anything is possible.

Hillary is hated and not a descent candidate to stand and this is why Trump has won.

America is full of nutters...it was only a matter of time before one was elected.

Oh well at least the £ has made some ground.

Amazing result. Fair to say a few people stunned in this part of the world. Others delighted.

Love him or loathe him, incredible upset.

His victory says as much about him as it does the US electorate.

If anyone sees Craig Waterman can you get him to report to the headmasters office.

Let's hope so or they'll go to work hungry and with cereal down their shirts ;)

Amazing opening prices on the market - I bought some VWRL.LON at open at 4650 - there was a near 12% spread which is incredible for such a broad based ETF. Sadly other limit orders didn't go through as it has bounced back to 5300 or so.

Fully agree with your analysis, the past thirty-forty years has seen a complete destruction of what held the working class together in both the US and the U.K., where once there were good jobs and a sense of community there now lies **** jobs, **** wages with no security and they are surrounded by economic migrants willing to work for a pittance, live ten to a house and then send their wages home!

They've been squeezed and squeezed that much that these are the type of results you get and the people who are surprised are the ones who lazily call the people who voted for a megalomaniac like Trump "racists" and "xenophobes" while completely missing the point.

Many may disagree with that but I'm afraid it's true and the results back it up.
