Question of the day

Zagatoes has it spot-on. It was indeed 4:

1. The one and only all-rounder Sir Garfield Sobers playing for Notts v Glamorgan
2. Ravi Shastri playing for Mumbai v Baroda in India
3. Herschelle Gibbs South Africa v Netherlands
4. Yuvraj Singh v England

Alex Hales did indeed hit six sixes off consecutive bowls but spread over two overs. So doesn't qualify as an answer to this question.

More recently Jordan Clark went into the Hall of Fame for hitting six sixes off consecutive balls in a single over in April 2013 in a second XI game for Lancashire against Yorkshire so he became the fifth player to hit six sixes off a single over - but not in First Class Cricket.
If it were how many cricketers hit six sixes off consecutive bowls, the answer would be 6 including Jordan Clark.

Zagatoes has it.

I seem to remember (but it fades!) that a gadgey called ******* or Pocock or something like that hit 6 consecutive sixes across 2 overs in S. Africa shortly after Sir Gary Sobers, but I cannot find a reference to it. Maybe I am wrong. I was once before

Pat Pocock took five wickets in one over and then went on to take six wickets in 9 balls and seven in 11 balls. I am not aware of anyone else in the six sixes in one over list at First Class/International Test Cricket. Happy to be corrected however.

No no
I am not correcting you
The gadgey I am thinking of (obviously not Pocock) hit 3 sixes in one over and 3 more in the first balls of the next over
I am sure S Africa comes into it somewhere - either a national or a venue and it was after Gary Sobers
But hey ho move on, at my age I get things wrong!

So, you've been wrong twice. Very shoddy and not very inspiring.

Im struggling with this one. Statue of liberty or the Eiffel tower were my first thoughts but quickly dismissed.

Im inclined to think its some sort of bridge that was made abroad and shipped to its current site.

If it dates back to 1830 ish and its 930 ft long then it would be too long for a boat and 5k miles doesnt seem much for the life of a sail ship.

If it is a bridge i have no idea which one.

I'd been going through my mind for bridges as well. My line of thought was something like Tower Bridge and the distance could be that covered by the tips of the lifting sections. Tower Bridge, however, is far too young.
