The compressor is a quick and easy fix, luckily. Grimaldi did mine with re-gas in a couple of hours, if I remember rightly. It was Marios who noticed that the bearing had gone on my old one. The pillocks at Lancaster didn't spot it when it had a service. It should be ok for a while without it working but not wise to run for any longer than necessary. Big mess if it all goes t!ts up.

Good luck!

Mine went on the GTS but was covered by Nareman's astonishingly good warranty. It was fixed by my MD in quick time

A note for others who may suffer from this, the a/c compressor is very expensive but Nareman has a contact on mainland Europe for a refurbished unit which is as good as new for far less and my friendly MD was good enough to fit it, even though they didn't supply - Marshall are a good bunch

£600 plus vat from Marios for an OEM pump (£2k from Maserati). You can get a Chinese one for £250 from Poland. The OEM Delphi one is **** so if it goes again Ill be getting the Chinese one, it cant be any worse.

Its half hour to degas, and hour to fit, half hour to gas.

600gram of R134a and fill the pump with PAG-150 oil before installing it.

They seem to last 20k/5 years

I have emailed Nareman and asked if he would mind sharing his contact.

A Plan do mine. Better just give them a call myself to see what cover I have.

Edit. Fully comp throughout Europe.

Now insured with Aplan, a quality policy for £50 more than DL.

I URGE YOU ALL TO CHECK YOU ARE FULLY COMP OVERSEAS.

...and the icing on the cake, my insurance, I went with Direct Line and paid a much higher price as I wanted quality cover on the Strad. (as they advertise they are premium)

Just found out I am only third party abroad and the feckers want £50-100 per trip extra.

Just cancelled it within the 14 day period now on the look for another insurer, any suggestions?

Just moved from Direct line to Adrian Flux

Agreed value, 90 days foreign cover with same cover as in UK, much lower excess and my bro as a named driver for around the same price as Direct line

Having fallen victim to AC compressor failure once with nothing more that slight play being noted previously, I would always suggest its checked and replaced as soon as any sign of wear is detected.

Matt I had to pay £40 for my green card, like you they offered free green card 3rd party and also had to pay £52 for AA recovery just in case.

Just ordered a European driving kit so I have all the legal gubbins. That turns up Saturday. So I think other than my PIS being adjusted on Monday I'm all set.

The holes in the bumper where the numberplate is screwed in were doing my head in, so it was either a case of buy a new bumper or put the plate back on to cover them up.
2 5p self tapping screws were somewhat cheaper than a new bumper with paint and fitting!

You can have the holes smart repaired. I had the stupid hole from the plate holder in my front splitter repaired.

Valet guy coming over the weekend, will be sticking on a nice layer of wax. Check tyres, check oil. Place stuff into boot, turn on music. Leave.
