Valid points, Frank. Nevertheless, at the very least if the lovely chap who sold the car turned out to be a motor trader masquerading as a private seller, it would be right and proper for him to be obliged to comply with the duties and responsibilities of any other motor trader.
Course, he could just be a ***** with the moral backbone of a slug but presumably as he remains anonymous on this thread we can say what we like, can we? In case his name gets posted best take the thread down, pronto!
I dont disagree...if hes a trader , or could be proved a trader thats a different thing altogether. not least for tax and vat after all HMRC scare us all
