It never made it and had to be recovered this evening. The joys of MaseratiMy GS has been woken from its slumber. It started! It will be at my brothers tonight for an inspection to see if it (and I) will make the trip without major surgery.
The classic is very different, but just as good. Enjoy.I know this makes us sound like a pair of overprivileged dicks but Jo and I were remembering when we first went to LeMans in 1986.I was a very tired junior doctor and we set off in the Lancia completely forgetting any tapes. We had Tears for Fears and Brothers in Arms and that was it. I nearly killed us by falling asleep on the way there. After a strong coffee I managed to screw 120mph out of the HPE thinking that you only live once and that he best way to stay awake was to PUSH . An awesome time and we have been back many times to the race but never to the classic. the GT may exceed 120 this year (f the gendarmes). Jo is rooting in the cellar for the CDs!
Oh no! Better to find out now than in France. Maserati ownership is like pinball; there is a randomness that keeps you alive.[/QUOTE]It never made it and had to be recovered this evening. The joys of Maserati

Luckily it was a massive blow out in the rear tyre. But given that there was a knocking noise from that side after I ran over something on the way back from Bennys , something may have come loose underneath and taken out the rear tyre . We shall see .
On inspection
-4 new tyres as the fronts are cracking as well.
-Two rear rose joints / tie bars
-steering geo
-cracked exhaust clamp
-and the string has snapped on the furry dice
I better phone the bank

Yeah Not so bad . What with the new clutch and flywheel it just needs a bit of paint and then it will go up for sale ...possiblyJust the usual bits and pieces then.
Is it finished yet? When do you leave..?
