Digitek Bridge CAN: Where exactly is it located, and how to access it?

Hi Fifty, thank you for your answer. I went to the local Maserati Garage, they told me there is no access by SD. Therefore, I bought a spare unit and would like to build it in and try. Regards, Siebeking

Digitek Bridge CAN: Where exactly is it located, and how to access it?

Hi Guys, I switched the mls-odometer to a km-odometer in my US-imported Spyder. However, I still got °Fahrenheit instead of °C displayed. I figured out that the reason is the programming of the bridge-CAN unit. Although it is the same part number for all markets for a given model year, in the...

4200 clutch: difference between manual and CC (mechanical, friction)

Hi guys, after studying my clutches and comparing them to all clutch pictures I found, I am sure this is one difference of a manual clutch to a CC clutch: The small holding fixtures, see the picture below. The manual clutch 196021 has them, the CC 196335 clutch has none. Now I know which one to...

4200 clutch: difference between manual and CC (mechanical, friction)

Thank you very much for the photos, Masertel! I will study them thoroughly. I guess this thread 'rockets' in a different, albeit very interresting, direction meanwhile :-)

4200 clutch: difference between manual and CC (mechanical, friction)

@Nibby: You are welcome. @masertel: Nitrous ... impressive :-) And thank you for your detailed information. Yes, the pressure plates look worn on the clutches, they have a mark where they might break under strain. About the relining: I contacted Mr Holman of MD Clutches three weeks ago. Current...

4200 clutch: difference between manual and CC (mechanical, friction)

@ Corranga, thank you very much! Let me see what I can find out ... @Nibby, the first 4200 and Spyder (up to assembly number 9253) had a different clutch, which was replaced in these first cars upon first clutch change by the new designs. I do not know what was the reason for the change in design.

4200 clutch: difference between manual and CC (mechanical, friction)

Hi Corranga, well, no, unfortunately, I did not find any part numbers. I do not know which one is the CC, and which is the manual. Perhaps three photos of your brand new clutch will help: - A photo of the friction disk might tell us more details about the material used (perhaps F810 DS is only...

4200 clutch: difference between manual and CC (mechanical, friction)

Thank you for asking, Marios. Thanks for the links, Adam. @mjheathcote, @whereskeith, sorry, cannot confirm or deny. 196021 versus 196335: On both, it says F810 DS, which is the friction material. Does anybody know more about the difference between both clutches?

4200 clutch: difference between manual and CC (mechanical, friction)

Hi Geo, thank you. Well, I tried to find out from multiple pictures I googled ... It is like one of those picture puzzles: Do you see the difference? ;-) Regards, Heinz

4200 clutch: difference between manual and CC (mechanical, friction)

Hi guys, in a fit of madness, I thought I should buy a replacement clutch to have it relined ... and to have it in hands once my Spyder needs one. I ended up with two Valeo clutches, bought from some English gentleman, where according to him, one should be CC, one manual. He does not know which...

Thank you all for your warm welcome ... @Peter: Thanks for the NIT software. I disassembled my NIT first, in order to find the error. Did not find anything obvious. The spare unit will be built in, and updated with your software next week. @George, @AndyK: My old Maserati with standard gearbox...

Hi all, have been in the forum for some time ... so now it is really time to introduce myself! I live in Munich, Germany. I own a Maserati Spyder (2005, CC), and recently sold my other Spyder (2004, standard gearbox) ... I simply was not able for two years to judge which one to keep, and...
