I am just wondering... Did the mechanic mean the "pump" or the "motor" that drives the pump? If not, as long as you are in there you should change both as a set.
The player is unable to play the CD's. This is because the tray is tilted. The lights work, the ejection works. When it can't play the CD, it doesn't recognize the CD. I'm not sure about other CD changers, but the 2004ish Maserati's seem to all fail at some point.
The table where the cd sets when playing gets out of balance. It is moved up and down on 3 jack screws. One of the jack screws adjuster slips, causing the table to tilt. The player will then not spin properly. It's a very small black screw threaded plastic that comes loose. Recenter the table...
I took my broken cd changer apart. Figured out how to fix it. I found the design flaw that makes them all of a sudden quit. Not sure anybody really wants to have a working cd changer.
My version of the X pipe... I went to the local exhaust shop. They do normal and custom work. I showed them a picture of what I wanted. They ordered an X pipe kit and built this X pipe on my 2004 coupe. I think it looks and sounds great. $475, not bad for a Maserati upgrade.

Decided not to go with the AGIP.. Going to flush my system,, then go with the BMW,,,, blue A/F. Easy to get,, a good price,, long life, and doesn't corrode. Used in the BMW aluminum engines.
I have a 2004 Coupe. I have been doing the 30,000 mile service. I pulled a little coolant out of the reservoir. It is a brown color. Doesn't look like coolant. Maybe this car came from a warm climate, and wasn't serviced with real coolant.
What is the coolant I can use in my car...
