    Trip to Italy

Got pulled off when I bought the car as I drove up our drive which has a dip, put it back and it came off on a speed bump, so hadn't bothered with it since. Just kept it in the passenger footwell. Only time anyone commented was crossing the border into Italy, the official asked where the...

    Trip to Italy

All in (together with a trip to Venice) just over 2300 miles, average 22 mpg. So £700 or so on fuel. We all enjoyed the food, and the kids loved the ice cream! We all loved it so much we'll prob go again in Oct half term. There's something about driving the Maserati in Italy, it feels right...

    Convertible car mainly for track

Very much agree, Elise will carry much more speed no doubt, and I can imagine a bit less forgiving? I have toyed with the idea of Elise as well, but for each crash I would have with the Elise, I could get a whole new MX5!

    Convertible car mainly for track

I used to use a Porsche 911 (993 RS) for trackdays, whilst it was fantastic and immensly capable on track, it was also very exensive to run on track, and repairs were not cheap. Now I use MX5 (Mk 1) which is cheap as anything to buy and run. Put a cage, retuned engine, suspension etc you'll...

    Trip to Italy

Only had an afternoon there, so just parked the car in a car park by town centre, walked along the water front, had a lazy lunch by the lake side, and the kids had a paddle in the water after. Will prob spend a bit longer there the next time. Found another pic with the car in the ferry on the...

    Trip to Italy

It was quite funny actually! On the motorway all the way there it was like Moses parting water, trafic just pulls over way before you get near it. I harding had to deactivate the cruise control at all. The drivers over the otherside of the pond is so much more aware of what's behind them and...

We (with 2 kids age 6 and 10) stayed a night near Fontainbleau, and then Nyon (Swiss) before heading down to Verona over Simplon pass. Spent a few nights in Verona and saw Aida in the Arena, went to Venice as well as doing some wine tasting (and buying) and visited Lake Garda. Enjoyed lots of...

    Wheel alignment on Gransport

If you're talking about 4 wheels alignment, including cambers, toe in/out, casters, corner weights and ride heights, rake etc, rather than just making the front wheels more or less pointing the same way forward, then anything less than a few hundred quids is prob not that great. A chap I know...

    Road Trip

We did the trip near enough 15 yrs ago in a Porseche 356 Speedster, drove round the coutryside in Tuscany and stayed in a little guest house in Montalcino. Spent half my fortune drinking Brunello ever since! Now with 2 kids tagged along, the GranTurismo is going to be perfect. There something...
