Thanks. I don't recall unplugging those two cables. I've looked all around from below and can't see anywhere for them to plug into. Years ago, I recall removing a "Road Angel" device and maybe a tracker, but I don't remember how these were wired in.

I sort of worked out my second question. In this photo from the How To, the big connector appears to be wrapped in an oval something (foam ?) - far right of frame above the go pedal.

And does this big connector clip onto somewhere? It looks like it should, but I can’t find where. Or does it just hang free? The cable from this connector goes into the base of the ignition switch.

Hey. Reinstalling dash after heater core replacement & AC evaporator replacement. I have found 2 plugs under drivers side, but can’t figure out where they attach. Using the heater core replacement how to, all the cables shown seem to be accounted for. Maybe these weren’t plugged/spares...

Just a little update on the low oil pressure reading on the dash gauge. I had the oil filter cut open. There were no metal flecks or fragments visible. However, the oil had only seen about 500 km since the oil change. Of possible significance, I've discovered a clue that might point to it...

I don't think the lubrication system on these cars has a pressure relief valve. It's built into the dry sump oil filter I believe. Oil filter was replaced with recent oil change.

That's true. I agree the pressure gauge must be somewhat inaccurate when reading zero because the oil pressure tester showed 18 psi, which should give a readout of 1.25 bar on the dash gauge. Maybe the senders aren't designed to measure much below that value, so it just drops to zero. Just...

Oil pressure tester was connected to the oil pressure sender connection. Getting to it was difficult, needless to say. Where is the oil suction strainer? How do you get to it?

I don’t think it’s starved lifters. There is no lifter tick at all with engine hot and the oil pressure reading zero. I do get lifter tick occasionally on starting but it goes quickly. I thought the change in engine note might be due to inadequate oil pressure for the variators causing a change...

I don’t recall telling the mechanic. The change in engine note is subtle but noticeable to me but I think when you start telling them about subtle things, they often just look at you like you’re imagining things.

Although it maxed out at 75 psi, I’m not sure what rpm. On the dash pressure guage, it gets to 5 bar at about 4000 rpm now. When I first got the car, I seem to remember it would be at 5 bar at 2000 rpm.
