Thanks all, Ive got a few things to check now so will let you know how it goes, It may be a wsek or so as every thing seems to happen at once. Im starting to think that it may not have been recharged correctly. Colin
Hi Conaero, been through most things, next on the list is check the relays and the pressure switch ( where is it ) The AC hasnt worked really well since Ive had the car ( 7 or 8 years ) Colin
HI Phil, Ive had the gauges on it and it seems Ok. Low side is bit high but I put that down to the fan not coming on. Ill attack it again tomorrow. Where is the High pressure switch Zep.? Its a 2002 4200 coupe Thanks all for the input.
Ive got a Launch 431 but I dont think that shows AC info. The inbuilt AC reader shows No faults. Tomorrow Ill get the multi meter out. Thought it was best to work from the fans back. My regular drive is a Peugeot 504 , No AC so no problem, open a window but when the AC is there its got to work.
Hi Oneball, Every thing works, comp.engages ,there are noises that seem to indicate the inside controls work, had it regassed, Just no engine fan on when I turn on AC and no cold.
Hi Zep, No AC fault codes. I got the relays out, seems like brute force was reqd. Ill check them tomorrow but they click when energized so I think they will be Ok. Where to look next ? Colin
Hi All, Ive got a non working AC on the 4200. Everything seems to work and its been recharged but I have noticed the engine fan doesnt come on with the AC. Want to check the fan relays but cant work out how to remove them.Dont want to do it in car as I dont want to destroy an expensive module...
Yes, the area above the battery. Ill get a photo when I have a chance. I thought it was correct that only one of the blocks had a cover but it seems that both do. It looks like the same cover.
Does anyone have a spare fuse- relay cover from the block in the boot of a 2002 4200. Mine was missing one from when I bought the car and I would like to replace it. Maybe an Alfa or Fiat one is the same. Hope someone can help.
My 4200 has always idled around 1150 rpm. Its mostly used in the country so it doesnt bother me much. Would prefer 950 rpm but doesnt seem to be adjustable. I have an X431 so if anybody knows how please let me know. The car is a manual by the way.
