I'm new to this event - what time do people recommend arriving or is there a time beyond when you are not likely to get onto stand? I think I read gates open 9am but that's one heck of an early start from West Country .

Any others traveling from West along M4 or M3?

I am all booked and looking forward to this one. Is it like Brooklands where you can get on the track?
I assume not ?

We did the parade laps last year & they were certainly worth waiting for. Three a breast & snaking for some distance with a tail half way round the short circuit. Bibbing, hooting & revving a plenty.

Not fast laps like Brooklands & more conventional parade laps from what I know. An odd occasion to leave a little gap & give here a burst though.

I'll see if I can find a link to my footage from last year.

So do we need to book onto the parade lap?

I have not done that yet !
Your MSV ticket for the display pass will include all the info and regulations for the parade lap. Personally, for a wander around at 30 Mph last thing in the evening isn’t really what I’m looking for. But you can, and like I said all info is provided.

Does anyone that has been before know if there is a cut off time for entry to join the display? Was hoping to make it along and have a slot, but not sure i can get there until 9.30am and may need to leave mid afternoon. Thanks

M25 services suits me too. Going to Fleet makes the journey much longer so want to come up the A3 and do the tunnel.

Shall we say Chobham services M25 between J 9 and 10 for 8am with the aim to leave at 8:30?

Below is from my entry ticket, hope it helps.
Gates open for display vehicles:

Sunday 19th August 2018: 07:00 – 08:30

Entrance gates:
All vehicles will enter through the main Brands Hatch entrance, if you have a P1 – P5 code on your vehicle pass you are welcome to enter through Paddock gate on Scratchers Lane so you are closer to your area on arrival.
Tickets:
The e-ticket linked to this email is your vehicle and driver entry pass. Your tickets are vehicle specific – please do not arrive in a different vehicle. The ticket is only valid if you arrive in the vehicle you booked. Any additional passengers will also require a ticket which can be purchased in advance up until midday Thursday 16th August or on the day. Children under 13 are free.

Vehicle Pass:

Please print your vehicle pass and have this with you when you arrive at the venue. The letter/ number on the vehicle pass corresponds to your parking location so please display this clearly for the parking marshals once through the main gate. Once in place please do not move your vehicle. If you do need to move, for example due to an emergency, you must request assistance from a Brands Hatch marshal before moving your vehicle.

Jeez. I was there at 8.30 last year and I was one of the first cars there. Makes for a long day if you do the track parade.

I was actually thinking of getting there about 10am this year, just because that was the time most people turned up.
Obviously that is now out of the question.
