    Battery Maintenance

I really like the Hulkman Sigma 5, appreciate CTEK is the known brand but Amazon reviews aren't spectacular. My only criticism of my Hulkman is it doesn't seem to do much with a totally flat battery, supposedly it jas a force charge mode but .the only way I got it to work was jump start then...

    Battery Maintenance

Do you ever use these isolate switch? I assume it's meant for car not in use summer or colder winter/while charging?

    Battery Maintenance

Thanks for the advice. Cost isn't as issue as batteries are batteries. Just seems strange the 4200 is so quick to drain . No tracker, will take your point on the alarm . Right now I'm giving the battery a couple of weeks grace to see if this charger is able to provide any voodoo magic. I'm not...

    Battery Maintenance

I don't have an external socket at present. Current 'charge for any length of time' set up is cable by back door wedged closed with a golf putter/no letterbox. I agree about keeping a battery fully charged, I genuinely didn't realise how much it knackers up a battery letting it drop outside of...

    Battery Maintenance

Bought my car last year with what was a newish battery at the time. Never owned a car before that needed to be hooked up to a maintainer and though running it once a week or so (avoiding salt roads) throughout winter would suffice. How wrong I was. In the depths of winter the had a tendency to...

    Wheelarch rust repair

I imagine a body shop could clean it up and respray the wing for maybe £500-750. But as others have said fitting those tyres to a Maserati , I have them on my Clio and I think they were a cheapie to get it through the MOT

    Limp mode?

Just drove the car for the first time in over a week after a couple of hundred miles in a couple of days. Battery had run down a bit so had it on trickle charge all morning. Started and set off ok, only once warmed up noticed it was a reluctant to rev beyond 2500 revs as if in limp mode. Parked...

Newbie, carless but curious and looking

Welcome on board. Market seems like an all time low so plenty of bargains to be had it you're handy in the tools. Unfortunately some parts costs are unavoidable so try and buy a car that do doesn't need rear control arms

    Maseratis - Spotted

A full length tour of Wales this weekend and not a single spot . Set off from Macclesfield to Swansea on Sunday and got stuck behind a load of Sunday drivers for the most part . Only saw one Maserati and it was an old guy in what looked like a diesel. Oh well, on the plus side I reached 150mph*...

    Hello newbie

Fwiw I just bought a Hulkman £49.99 with a £10 voucher that cropped up at checkout. Having read the reviews of Ctek and Noco I wasn't confident either justified the price tag. And at the lower end of the scale everything just looks like generic/rebranded dropshipped junk from China. To be fair...

Speaking of Japanese, this looks like an interesting rust free Jaguar XKR 'Black Knight' Edition

03 Coupe GT Project - Plenty of questions incoming...

Looks like it lived by the seaside? After investigating the extent of the rust I'd get it patched up to prevent any further corrosion and enjoy it presently looks ok from a distance. As it's a manual I'd like to think that pricewise it's day will come so just keep it in a good useable condition...

    Brake judder

I used to have this issue with my Mitsubishi. Drove me absolutely insane, never fully diagnosed although it went away after I rebuilt the calipers. Even though I'm face value there was no issue with them and the pistons moved relatively freely.

    Sportsitalia…the end

Sorry to hear this, I was very much looking forward to making a trip down in the autumn. With any luck you'll be back up and running by then.

    Cold mornings/moisture build up

Yeah I leave it running all the time, hot and cold days. It has a fresh re-charge in August and that's what the guy advised to keep the pump and pulleys etc lubricated. Not sure the science behind it but doesn't the Aircon act as a dehumidifier to some degree?

    Cold mornings/moisture build up

I should probably double check. In the baking heat of summer I left the windows down anyway when parked yet when I lifted the little panel on the driver's side always seems to be ever so slightly moist. Not sure what the solution would be without removing the carpet? *Heater matrix was prior to...
