I checked the hoses on my car a few days ago and there seems to be quite a lot of space (in masarati terms anyway, maybe 1cm or more) between the hoses and the engine. I think EOBD means European On Board Diagnostics - usually engine management checks. Hard to beliebe than an error here would prevent the engine from starting. Sounds more like that the problem is to do with the F1 gearchange not working hence stuck in first. Relay and fuses ok? good...

Yup, should be a main adjuster on the back of the light, its on the top left of this puicture (not xenon) and can be easily accessed/felt through the access panels-could be a bit stiff though (oh err):

I guess the engine management system stores the erros/warning codes (airbag etc) in some kind of non volatile RAM. This can't be battery backed up otherwise we'd all have to replacing some small batteries in the controllers every 7 years or so therefore i assume its nvSRAM. I can't imagine that...

I think you can find it on amazon.com but they have restrictions on countries that they are allowed to send to. Ebay.com often has somebody offering them for download or on cd, thats where i got mine from. I think the 4200 coupe is also known as M138 in the states (?). Martin
