Reinstalling dash. Where do these plug into?

Thanks. I don't recall unplugging those two cables. I've looked all around from below and can't see anywhere for them to plug into. Years ago, I recall removing a "Road Angel" device and maybe a tracker, but I don't remember how these were wired in.

Reinstalling dash. Where do these plug into?

I sort of worked out my second question. In this photo from the How To, the big connector appears to be wrapped in an oval something (foam ?) - far right of frame above the go pedal.

Reinstalling dash. Where do these plug into?

And does this big connector clip onto somewhere? It looks like it should, but I can’t find where. Or does it just hang free? The cable from this connector goes into the base of the ignition switch.

Reinstalling dash. Where do these plug into?

Hey. Reinstalling dash after heater core replacement & AC evaporator replacement. I have found 2 plugs under drivers side, but can’t figure out where they attach. Using the heater core replacement how to, all the cables shown seem to be accounted for. Maybe these weren’t plugged/spares...

THE CHEAT WAY TO REMOVE STICKY STUFF FROM THE FRONT SEAT BACKS

For anyone thinking about refurbishing the sticky seat back of the front seats, I found a quick and easy method. I just used a concentrated solutions of washing machine powder concentrate. I used about 4 full scoops in 300 ml of water. The more concentrated, the quicker it works. Make sure...

    A/C EVAPORATOR REPLACEMENT

Has anyone had the pleasure of replacing their A/C evaporator in a 4200 or Gransport? I have removed the dashboard and heater core after being advised that the A/C leak was probably from the evaporator. Having exposed the evaporator, leak testing confirmed a small leak from the lower part of...

    A/C leak Gransport

After having the car sit in the garage a couple of weeks, it seems the A/C isn't cooling. This became obvious quickly in the 30 C plus heat here in Brisbane. So got a mobile A/C guy out to test and he found evidence of a leak coming from the main central vent in the cabin. He says this...

LOW OIL PRESSURE. 2006 GRANSPORT. I THINK ENGINE NEEDS TO COME OUT.

Just a little update on the low oil pressure reading on the dash gauge. I had the oil filter cut open. There were no metal flecks or fragments visible. However, the oil had only seen about 500 km since the oil change. Of possible significance, I've discovered a clue that might point to it...

LOW OIL PRESSURE. 2006 GRANSPORT. I THINK ENGINE NEEDS TO COME OUT.

I don't think the lubrication system on these cars has a pressure relief valve. It's built into the dry sump oil filter I believe. Oil filter was replaced with recent oil change.

LOW OIL PRESSURE. 2006 GRANSPORT. I THINK ENGINE NEEDS TO COME OUT.

That's true. I agree the pressure gauge must be somewhat inaccurate when reading zero because the oil pressure tester showed 18 psi, which should give a readout of 1.25 bar on the dash gauge. Maybe the senders aren't designed to measure much below that value, so it just drops to zero. Just...

LOW OIL PRESSURE. 2006 GRANSPORT. I THINK ENGINE NEEDS TO COME OUT.

Oil pressure tester was connected to the oil pressure sender connection. Getting to it was difficult, needless to say. Where is the oil suction strainer? How do you get to it?

LOW OIL PRESSURE. 2006 GRANSPORT. I THINK ENGINE NEEDS TO COME OUT.

I don’t think it’s starved lifters. There is no lifter tick at all with engine hot and the oil pressure reading zero. I do get lifter tick occasionally on starting but it goes quickly. I thought the change in engine note might be due to inadequate oil pressure for the variators causing a change...

LOW OIL PRESSURE. 2006 GRANSPORT. I THINK ENGINE NEEDS TO COME OUT.

I don’t recall telling the mechanic. The change in engine note is subtle but noticeable to me but I think when you start telling them about subtle things, they often just look at you like you’re imagining things.

LOW OIL PRESSURE. 2006 GRANSPORT. I THINK ENGINE NEEDS TO COME OUT.

Although it maxed out at 75 psi, I’m not sure what rpm. On the dash pressure guage, it gets to 5 bar at about 4000 rpm now. When I first got the car, I seem to remember it would be at 5 bar at 2000 rpm.

LOW OIL PRESSURE. 2006 GRANSPORT. I THINK ENGINE NEEDS TO COME OUT.

Oops typo. They got a reading of 18-20 psi at hot idle after short drive. I thought normal pressure is 30-35 psi at hot idle. Also, I’m using mildly heavier 5w50 rather than the 5w40 it replaced recently.

LOW OIL PRESSURE. 2006 GRANSPORT. I THINK ENGINE NEEDS TO COME OUT.

For quite a while now, I've been worried about low oil pressure. First noted about 2 years ago, just under 1.25 bar (about 18 psi) at hot idle. Pressure sender was a bit flaky though, so it was replaced along with oil change 1 year ago. However, the new sender showed even lower pressure at...

    2006 Gransport gear problem

Mechanic thinks it is collapsed pressure plate again. Bell housing coming off today to confirm. I checked and it's only 10,000 km since the clutch was replaced. Is there anything in the clutch setup that could make it collapse so soon?

    2006 Gransport gear problem

I was only about a mile from home too. RACQ (like AA) wouldn’t cover the tow because the towing company insisted on using a “low loader”. So it cost $225 for a one mile tow. Do our cars need low loaders or are regular tow trucks ok? I didn’t think our cars are that low.
