    Lack of car magazines

I’m probably in the minority but prefer printed media as spend to much time looking at screens. Picked up a practicle classics and motor mechanics to go back to work with yesterday. Also I keep the old ones as I’ll have forgotten the articles after a year or so might pick and re-read one at...

Good news, what did you need to replace in the end?

    Autocar Article on Used Gransport

Seems quite fair. Think most 20yr old sports cars could be classed as needy with maintenance / repairs not necessarily unreliability.

    Project 4200

Few updates on the 4200: EBC blue pads fitted on the front, supposed to be better for track use, we will see. F1 fluid leaks, found the return pipe rubbers leaking and non-standard clips fitted in I assume previous effort to fix New hoses and correct clips - no more leaks, also re-...

What have you done to your Maserati today?

Removed the brake pad guides from the calipers that came off my GS. Mixture of heat, chisel and T27 with a lot of patience. Glad I wasn’t trying to do that on the car :)

My 2005 GS is Euro 3 with the older style exhaust (No cats in the headers, both pairs of the cats in the sections after) at least cheaper road tax

Brake Caliper Overhaul (GS / 4200)

Over 4 years after my first post I’ve finally got round to fitting the overhauled calipers - (well one so far!) different shade of red but won’t be too noticeable…

What have you done to your Maserati today?

Changed a ball joint boot and cleaned up / set handbrake ready for MOT. Forgot what a pain changing the boot can be.

six inches was too much for her. written off.

Very sad news. Would be one or more of the con rods bent. My wife managed to hydraulic our old 5 series engine, insurance covered replacement engine amazingly. Out of interest what was the insurance pay out? Enough to get another 4200?

4200 GS Won't crank. Engine light on.

Some will be the knock sensors, there’s 4 of those under the plenum

4200 GS Won't crank. Engine light on.

Should the broken wires go to the crank sensor? It’s located in the vacant hole in the below pic

4200 GS Won't crank. Engine light on.

The vacant spade is the oil pressure sensor and normal

    Project 4200

It’s a bit too late, but thanks! I put a squizz of sealant on the cover gasket so some should have got on the threads by accident!

4200 Display "E" (AIR CONDITIONING no heating)

For the interior temp sensor if it were me I’d try I’d find a cheap spare to quickly test.

4200 Display "E" (AIR CONDITIONING no heating)

There must be some feedback with amount of circuits

4200 Display "E" (AIR CONDITIONING no heating)

Is there feedback on the actuators? It might move but feedback is the issue. Also worth checking internal temp sensor as this is also relatively easy to remove / swap
