    EV car driving phenomenon

This has ruined my weekend as I always thought cars braking at strange times meant the drivers were just lousy but now they have an excuse. I always try to not use the brakes when I’m on A/B roads, using anticipation, looking several cars ahead and coasting instead. Might explain why I don’t buy...

FOR SALE 2007 Maserati Gransport LE

Best of luck with the sale. My facelift 4200 was the same colour, really suits it especially with the more pumped up GS body.

Yep, German car manufacturing is going to take a serious kicking over the next decade. The cars are too expensive and quality/tech is iffy. White/Brown goods are all from the Far East and commodity cars will be too. Nothing low end (<£50k) will stay in Germany.

I'm wondering if they will sell anything rather than be EV only by 2028? They can keep Maserati in the deep freeze for years with good PR, limited edition models and badge engineered platform sharing. Does this give anyone on the forum anything new to buy though?

    Joining the electric car club

Makes sense to me. Personally I'm not sharing but huge numbers of young people now are not interested in cars and use public transport or Uber for a treat. I'm not even sure if they see car clubs as necessary. Back in the day I used to drive to work in the City and park in the West End on a...

    Additional car tax rate

This is interesting. You could just wait for the letter due in two weeks or so. If they do not pro rata then buy a year and then cancel and rebuy after nine months over the month end.

We are on the cusp of the right sort (ie smaller) of BEV cars being built as various governments pump primed company (ie expensive) cars first and manufacturers' also went for top end cars as it was easier to hide the excess costs/inefficient processes of BEV cars there. However, the best place...

How much on average should one budget on maintaining their Maserati

There is a huge resource on here so if you give more of an indication of which type of QP and age then people can help more. Early QPV had annual servicing and if you go for the DS box then there is clutch wear to think about with its associated costs and the issue of whether you like how the DS...

What have you done to your Maserati today?

Funnily enough saw a white Fiat Coupe parked up in the middle of Edinburgh recently. Still look wonderful.

    Maseratis - Spotted

One of the Audi garages near me (Dundee) has a used Levante Trofeo hiding round the back which is a slightly strange place to try and sell a Maserati SUV with a massive twin turbo V8. Best of luck to them.

    Hello from Scottish Highlands

Welcome. Me and my GranTurismo are near Perth which is sort of the start of the extended 500 especially now that we have that fake bit of royal stone to suck the tourists' in.

Maserati UK sales (or rather lack of them)

100%. Sports cars have been fast enough for a long time so it is about experience, feel, noise, smell, looks. I've driven a few modern Porsches' and they don't sound anything like as good as any of the Maserati V6 and V8 engined cars I have owned. I've not driven the new V6 GranTurismo as I...

Maserati UK sales (or rather lack of them)

The world has changed a lot. You were probably ahead of me but Lyndhurst happily put me in a nearly new 3200 with a low chassis number that was a delight to own and came with a crib sheet of tips as to how not to spin it on a roundabout. A couple of years earlier Audi gave me a weekend at...

Maserati UK sales (or rather lack of them)

Update as Gibbs would say. Maserati UK sold 91 cars in March. That's not a lot and less than half what was sold in March 2023. It's blow up mode. They are selling two SUVs, a mid engined hypercar and a GT. Sure the latter two are small volume but the SUVs are on message and look good. Should be...

    Maseratis - Spotted

Spent the week in central London for work. Only saw one Maserati, a dark blue GranCab on Piccadilly today. Who has stolen our cars?

    Alpine Tour 2024

Some effort. We went over to Cortina after the Timmelsjoch and the roads getting there were nearly as good. Venice is interesting, the photo is when we picked the car up in the multi. I was worried it would not start as they make you park it unlocked, keys on the dash and then they move it the...

    My Oceanic Blue GTS

The delights of Maserati spec! The 4.7 MC GTS came with the paddles your's has and the 4.7 Auto GTS (and 4.2) came with a smaller paddle that I think is more substantial but obviously harder to use when in a corner. Mind I was taught never to change gear with any steering lock on. These are...

Very nice, similar colour scheme to mine. Uprated larger paddles, wood trim and calipers (standard fit was black).

    Alpine Tour 2024

Yep, in some of my wilder cycling days on the Scottish hills I have overtaken cars on the descents. They were normally OAP shopping cars mind so it was hardly a major achievement. I can't believe the speed the proper cyclists get up to on the Alpine descents.

    Alpine Tour 2024

Timmelsjoch last year, well worth the 18 euros or so. Only open about five months of the year.
