147 gear selector cable ball joint probs

I bought a 147 for the winter months ,cleaned and change the probmatic gear selector bushes and now the selection is all good , only problem I have now is the ball joint on the end of the cables keeps coming off the selector which can be rather embarrassing in traffic does anyone know if you can get a replacement plastic ball joint part or is it a complete new cable assy.

I've suddenly found Mrs Catman's 147 to be rather sloppy going into gear. Is this likely to be the same issue, and if so, can someone point me at some sensible google terms, or a link?

That will be over to Mav. My GT with the same system never had this issue. The selector was revised from MY2005 so it was probably corrected in my car being a MY2007
