2000 QP wont start..please help - error code reading??

Hi Guys, Helping a fellow Maser owner here in Australia.

His 2000 model QP will turn over, sounds like its about to start, but just wont start......tried all the obvious, yes there is fuel supply, all fuses checked....

Is there a away of reading error codes on the QP.....?? I have the gear to do my 2000 model 3200GT...can i use the same???

Hi Peter, that's a good looking car you have there.
Your mate's problem sounds like the security code. Get him to see if the padlock symbol stays on while he's trying to start.
If so he needs to go to his owners manual and follow the procedure to enter the security code from his red card.
It involves holding the accelerator down for a the number of flashes equal to each digit of the code key.
Best he read it up exactly. Mine does this from time to time.

Hi Bruce, Thanks for the ideas...will forward them on...and give it a try.
I have also suggested to clean the cam and timing sensors...if they are dirty, the computer does'nt know when to fire or inject fuel etc.... i had a similar problem on a Ghibli I owned...It does your head in when it's playing up!!!
I will let you know the progress.. thanks heaps for your input,

P.S. - Thanks for the comment on my car..the wheels are now silver not grey...yours looks great too! - and you cant beat RED!
