evening everyone!

i just changed the throttle pot (the bosch part under the steering wheel) to one of the units that Davy made.
it works absolutely brilliantly!

it is a super easy change over and the results from my first drive afterwards were brilliant. the engine is a lot smoother when in idle (no more 'throttle hunting').
and the throttle response is super accurate now.

i can only recommend. it is a true upgrade.
thank you again David for having made this! brilliant, excellent work.
bosse

PS milage on the car is 55k....

Thanks Bosse, my order is in with Davy83. "rubs hands together" Can't wait to see if it fixes the rpm yoyo.

Des this retain the dual circuit?
Understood there was a modification on some, to bridge both pots so they always read the same voltage, hence curing the "errors" detected on the standard items.

The replacement has dual outputs just as the OEM version. Its a protection against getting WOT conditions if the sensor fails. with the two wired together or a sensor with a single output, if it produces full scale voltage then the ECU will go WOT and no way for the ECU to decide if this is wrong or not. It may not be a very likely failure, but its a fairly undesirable one! so the idea of two outputs is that if they don't match then its a problem and it goes into limp home mode. This way both outputs would have to fail full scale output at the same time to cause WOT on the engine. The 4200 and i believe all the newer cars have dual output sensors for the same reason, but the tow outputs are different voltages.

After considering this i reckoned my new unit had to have two separate outputs just like it should, so it does. Make sense?

I've had WOT on a car in the past, very scary, takes a few seconds to get your wits together, by which time you have travelled a fair distance! Dual circuit is a must, anyone who bypasses this should think hard, it may fail in years to come.

Davy, will be chasing you in the next couplke of months as the TP and TB are on my "to do" list . TB still original according to Mike at MS.

I had one on my old Giulietta. Not so much 'fly by wire' but 'fly because you forgot to take a roll of electrical tape out of the engine compartment when you were working on her, and you've now stamped on the throttle get it to move, and the roll has prevented it from returning'

Doesn't have quite the same ring to it, really :)

Not planning anything just remembered that on the original Bosch pot there are two 5v wires and in yours one. I just though if one pin is dirty (let's face it the cabling and pins at both connectors are poor) then there is a single point of failure. Adding the second 5v gives redundancy to the system.

Ah right, well sure i could add that, will do, it will be a linking wire joining both pins to the one wire, but yes could be done. The one to one wiring is more elegant, but i guess it would help on the 5v and the 0v (gnd).
