I changed the clutch in my 3200 when there was nothing wrong with it.

So as new clutches are really hard to get right now I thought I'd offer it for sale.

It does not appear to have had a hard life. Matt at Giallo said it was nowhere near end of life, but we fitted a new one as we did not know what was wrong. The real problem was at the pedal end.

Its all three bits - the cover, the centre plate and the release bearing.

For £40 extra I'll beef up the release bearing like I did my new one (I thought that was what had failed) - see this thread http://www.sportsmaserati.co.uk/showthread.php/7051-Release-Bearing-Fix-Possible-Bulk-Buy/page2 bottom of page 2.

The drive plate is 8.19mm thick. To put that in context, a brand new plate is 9mm and a plate down to the rivets is about 4.5mm.

Maserati, in their infinite service revenue generating way say change if you take the gearbox out if its less than 8.5mm, but franky thats ripping people off.

Also, if you beef up the release bearing, any change of failure before the clutch fully wears is probably eliminated.
