That’s so funny you mention that because my work colleague told me about it months ago, I said I’d watch but haven’t got round to doing so yet. I think it’s called ‘Intouchables’, the Untouchables is that gangster flick with Costner and Connery... what a film that is too.

Yes, got to watch that again too!

For me this is the perfect spec. Identical spec to my Granturismo.

Hummmm.

Feels like it's priced right now rather than the 29k it was up for origanly. those horrid Italian flag badges under the vents would need to go. Look out of place.

The mileage is a little too high for my liking though.

I'd agree there. A smidge too high miles and/or price. There is a silver 4.2 GTS @ VGA that was about 16k with less miles I though that still hasn't sold & has been up for a.while I think.

This one is all a little too dark & too much black for me. I think the VGA one has light alcantara inserts which breaks it all up a bit.

*deep sigh* - inspection took place today, but it's not the car for me sadly.

I don't think it's my place to air the car's faults in great detail on public forums - but there's a LOT of work required to bring it back to it's former glory, coupled with a need to budget (when, not if) for a variator fix when it decides to start rattling.

For more info I'll take a PM... but feeling broken hearted, what a perfect colour combo :( Will keep fishing...

That's a shame. I guess hardly used in the last 3 years was always going to throw up some issues. Sounds like quite a few.

Feel free to PM me the details rather than on a public forum

I think in it's defence it was well used, the last owner held onto it for a respectable 4 years - but when I first saw the car, alarm bells started ringing (albeit quietly) when the rear tyres were worn to the cords.. and the rear discs and pads had both seen better days.

If you've got neglect in what I feel (in my opinion) are basic serviceable items above, then you've got to ask yourself the question what else hasn't been done... and the inspection answered that for me... alarm bells much louder now.

I 100% agree. Often you see cars for sale with little or no prep. Should be trade priced really if so. Clearly this isn't.

When you see even something as basic as tyres not replaced you have to wonder what else hasn't been dealt with agreed.

Who did the inspection for you? Was that onsite or back at their workshop?

Are you talking about the black top gear car?

My apologies, it was the Blue GTS currently @ Sterling Performance that I had inspected. I've not seen the Black Top Gear GTS, it's not for me.

It was AV that did the inspection for me, on-site but leveraging a local garage's ramps to get a view of the underbody/subframe..

Around the £100k mark, depending on spec, discounts, etc. Personally I think this red one is overpriced, given the age, colour, mileage, state of the market and the other similar cars available for less. But in general, I'd very much agree that the QP GTS model is a good value buy now, with 4.2 versions in the mid/late teens, and 4.7 versions in the mid twenties.

Agreed when the GTS is struggling in the low 30's these need to be in the low 20's imo... Weird market at the moment a proper buyers paradise.

I’ve sold two this summer at £35k, but yes, a bad one needing £10k of spend needs to be low to mid £20k’s. If I were in the market for a QPV GTS at present I’d look at these two:

The white one scares me, how many niggles would using that as a daily uncover? It could be a car now that is a constant battle to maintain. Black one for me for sure.

If buying the white one it would need a very thorough inspection and recommissioning. Black one for sure, but we don’t know how good that is either.

Oh but it's just been serviced by a main dealer so it must be tip top.... Ha!!!!
