Hi guys,
after studying my clutches and comparing them to all clutch pictures I found, I am sure this is one difference of a manual clutch to a CC clutch: The small holding fixtures, see the picture below. The manual clutch 169021 has them, the CC 196335 clutch has none. Now I know which one to use for "experiemental" relining for my car :)
Regards,
Heinz

Excuse my ignorance but a friend of mine will be replacing the clutch(+throw out bearing + spigot bearing) on my car soon and I would like to know what the 'tangs' are and how to tell if it's an uprated one when I buy it? I am replacing it due to having to change a noisy throw out bearing.
Masertel mentions both his clutches he's changed were down to throw out bearings rather than wear even at 85000 miles on one of them.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Tangs are the spring fingers in the centre if the plate.

The defective batch sees one or more of these fingers snap which in turn cause the trust bearing to jam against the broken part preventing it from engaging or disengaging.

Thanks Safrane.
