4200 gearbox oil query

Hi folks,

I can't seem to find a definitive answer for this. I'm getting close to my 4200's 56k miles service and I'm collecting information on things to prepare for. One area I'm struggling in is the differential and gearbox oil.

I have located this item, which as far as I know, matches the manufacturer / owners manual specification.

However, I noticed that there is a similar result specifically named for a differential / rear axel fluid, but I can't see any information about this on the owners manual.

Would I need both, or is it just the first one that would be okay? If someone can clarify what is needed, that would be superb. I can't tell if it's a shared reservoir or not.

Many thanks! :)

Any 75w90 GL5 synthetic
Thank you! :) Just with regards to the differential / gearbox being separate or serviceable, do you know if it's anything I need to worry about? I'm keen to get all fluids replaced soon, the car was sitting in a garage near enough unused for a few years (minus MOT runs) so wanting to get everything refreshed. Thanks again!

It’s all one unit sharing the same oil. The only other thing you need to do is remove and clean the filter. If the filter dies not want to come leave it, don’t break it.

Just to add, let the old oil drain out for half hour at least. When refilling I found it doesn't take much to come pouring out the fill hole because it can't take the oil in quick enough and throws it back out, so when it does this give it 20 minutes and go again, repeat until you go back and it instantly throws it out. Some sort of guide of how much has got to go back in is how much came out.

Brilliant, thanks all. Was struggling to get the definite answer.

I'll probably purchase a new filter, can find the part relatively cheap so might just replace it while someone's in there.
