Hi Howard.

I know Nareman at Nuvola well. I bought and sold my 4200 through him. He's as honest as the day is long and a real expert in these cars. You can rest assured that his stock is top notch.

Hi Howard, welcome. Just echoing Elliott's comments.

Good luck with your search.

another customer of Nareman at Nuvola - good guy (tad expensive)

I was doing this when looking for a coupe - to be honest not much in it between them. for me I decided to push my funds to get a GS hoping that it will hold its value better than the 4200

but do agree the cost difference between the 4200 and a GS didn't make sense then and now owning a GS still not sure but either way - WHAT A CAR, smile everytime (ish)

Nikos,
The oil pipe is a S/S braided pipe that comes from the side of the oil filter and up the back of the engine. Apparently there are an inner and outer sheath, with an internal liner between the two, the liner breaks down and the two sheaths rattle against each other until it fills with fresh oil. The other cause of this potential rattle is the Oil Accumulator Tank, which sits in the centre of the "V" at the back, This tank has a gas charged piston inside, which then fills with oil and is supposed to hold the oil pressure for the Variators on start-up. Sometimes this tank loses it's gas charge and will not hold the oil under pressure, which then makes the variators rattle on start-up..!!

Mine runs a bit lumpy on a cold start (almost wanting to stall) but I haven't noticed a rattle (yet). It's fine after 20 seconds or so. Could the lumpiness be related?

Simon,
No I would not think so, I would think that would be cleared by a service by someone who knows what they are doing. The oil pipe is only noise..!!
Nikos,
I'm not sure that pipe is the one I mean from the diagram. If you have a look under the car, right hand side, just in front of the RH door, you should see the oil filter, to the side of that is the S/S flexible Oil Pipe, basically mounted on the same plate as the oil filter. The pipe then comes up and across the back of the engine.

Cheers
