Read this on maseratilife, is it ********?

“In the F1 equipped cars, there is a way that you can get an aggressive clutch engagement for launch. It's like a "secret" launch control procedure (not in the manual). I don't recall all of the details, but what you do is pull back on both paddles and hold them until you hear a beep and see a flashing light. Then I believe you shift into first gear, as normal, and then floor it when the light turns green. I suppose you could do the brake/gas thing too, but I haven't tried that. That's the gist of it, from what I remember.”

Doesn’t sound very credible to me....

Never heard of that or seen a beep or flashing light on pulling both pedals together. Will give it a try tomorrow on the Wedding run lol

I would't be at all surprised to find there is a launch mode hidden in there somewhere. Manual, sport or race, traction off and see what happens with the paddles etc.

I wouldn't do it though as the short thrill isn't a cheap thrill if you lunch a clutch.

Does not pulling both levers select hill assist, I seem to remember Emblem showing it to me and there was a beep and a flash of the light when it engaged.

I just tried it, got unable to engage manual gear and transmission failure light came on until I let go. Went for a drive as i’d soiled my kecks and all seems well.

The technique above is indeed a hill parking assist on the original software equiped 4200cc. It engages the clutch quicker to assit parking on hills...its not a secret it is in the hand book of the first gen cars pre 2004MY or pre revised cars.

It was dropped when they released the next software update and can't be reinstate .

Applying a bit of logic, a secret launch mode that means you have to wait until the car tells you that you can go would be pretty pointless.

Sitting on the drag strip with your hand in the air waving and telling the other driver not to go yet.
Sitting at the traffic lights with a queue of cars beeping because that light is green.
etc.
