and wondered if anyone else had experienced the same.
I am very, very careful when using the pressure washer I am not too close to the car but the last couple of times I've washed then rewaxed the car on first start up I get a cel and lack of acceleration on the road. by start up 3 or so and an hour later the cel is gone and she is back being mad on the road as ever..........guessing I'm getting water into something probably via the vents?

I might suspect a knock sensor. Mine started that way (though not after a wash) it would go out after a second or third start up once everything was warmed up. As time passed the CEL would just stay on regardless and there was a marginal but noticeable difference in the performance/acceleration. I would recommend buying a code reader if you have an OEDB plug (only the later 3200's have this). Mine showed a knock sensor error on bank 2. One of the coolant hoses had a miniscule leak and was dripping on to the starter motor (which was unaffected) then onto the knock sensor situated below it. Have had both sensors on mine changed and the offending pipes. Touch wood, all back up and running, normal (CEL free) service has resumed !!
