The AA do not check for road tak for a breakdown but do for the breakdown insurance claims.

Can you hire a recovery truck???

that's true car nuts, I flew twice to Ireland purely on eBay car descriptions and telephone conversations and luckily both were "as described", drove one back, got overnight car ferry to Liverpool and then a nice leisurely drive down to South East

Bought an Alfa 164 Lusso 3.0 sight unseen from Exeter and that’s when I lived in Dumfries. £100, guy wanted it to go to an enthusiast, was a great car that. Fantastic drive back, apart from my poor decision of letting my travel-sick daughter come with me. Hxxx SLN

If you want something sometimes you have to be prepared to travel, we flew to Aberdeen just to look at a roadblocker but did save over £3k on buying the same model further south.

Bought the Ferrari 456 blind and drove nearly 600 miles getting it.
Repeated the journey the next day to pick up my Range Rover that I left there crazy or what.

Indeed. Went to Carmarthen too for a Spyder - which I didn't buy. Lets just say the seller was full of ****.
Even though it was a wasted trip it wasn't wasted time.

Bike, train, tube, train, plane, hotel, train, taxi to Colerain to buy the maser without PPI..... and a one way ticket on the ferry back to Scotland and then 400 miles South....
That's bonkers in hindsite but sometimes you just have to go for it. It was part of the adventure of getting into Maserati!

Bought a Cadillac sedan de Ville, 1973, 7.7 litre from Pinner, drove it back to Dumfries, cost me £92 to fill it up with petrol, this was 1997 or so. Fecking awful to drive on motorway, wandering everywhere, couldn’t stay in lane, rubber steering...

And there Enders my Yank Tank phase....

It’s very difficult to edit on iPad hence spell checker taking over, tapping doesn’t give the select/copy/paste thing...

To revive this...

Saturday. I left N.London at 6.20am, to Sothampton to pick up some bits for the MX5, got back home for 10.30am when my wife was just getting out of bed!
