Anyone know this Gransport?

Hi All,

I may be returning to the fold in the near future and am looking around for a low mileage Gransport. Does anyone know this car: http://www.acorncarsuk.co.uk/used-cars/maserati-gransport-v8-2dr-auto-enfield-201206448596590 ?

It seems extremely good value and from the photos I can't see any obvious reason why. The clutch may need doing I suppose but it shouldn't after only 20,000 miles so if it's had all the services it should (I have yet to ask to see the log book) then it should be an easy purchase, subject to independent inspection.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Stu

Stu,

It's been discussed a few times on here, I too said what great value it looked. Not sure who, but someone has been to see it and said it was tatty. Not sure how bad, but it's such good value, it would leave a little spare to sort it out. I'm not sure about the history which is one thing you can't sort out if it's patchy.

Thanks a lot, Dicky. I've asked for a copy of the service history and we'll see what it looks like. I see that 27-28 grand buys a good car with low miles so I would imagine there is some reason for the low price. The question is what that reason is and whether it's something that can be remedied without paying the difference between this price and the more expensive cars on the market.

It's red, red or silver cars tend to be about £5k less than, grey, black etc. It is a big difference in price but that's one of the major factors. It's all been discussed in depth more than once on here.

The first GS I went and saw was the exact colour combo, looks great from 6 feet, then as you get closer, the red shows marks quite badly and that interior wears particularly badly, shows dirt and scuffs very easily.

If its in top nick, then go for it I say, lovely combo.

I'll see what it looks like then. I have the best detailer in the west so the exterior isn't a worry if there's no actual crash damage. Likewise the interior, so long as the seats aren't badly scuffed or ripped.

I'll report back my findings.

Dem looked at it on my behalf a few months ago. It isn't in great nick and if I remember he said it had been rolled allegedly.
Suggest you pm Dem as he has some connections there who know a bit more. Was discussed on here at the time.

Rolled? Ouch, thanks Dave. I'll check with Dem and then see what's what. I'm realising now what a wonderful thing it is to have a car you know well and to have a dealer you can trust. I bought my 4200 from Nuvola in London. I paid top dollar for the car but it was the most reliable car I ever owned and since I sold it last July has had no mishaps and sailed through the MOT for the new owner. To say I regret selling doesn't even go close to explaining my feelings.

stay away!!! the alloy wheel guys that work there i know very well, and when the car came in it was rolled, they have sprayed it up and you can still see what a bad job they did, and thats with my eyesight!! never went into much detail reg history and work done as the bodywork itself is really bad never saw a point!

its priced way too much for what it is, the roof still has a little ding and you can see where the bodywork was filled in.....
