Auto Mode

Drove the QP last night in auto mode for the first time - wasn't bad at all, very good actually I thought, very smooth.

I know it wears the clutch but I had heard tales of how awful auto mode is - doesn't seem so to me.

Incidently, was looking through the bills and service history for the car, all complete, seems the clutch lasted to 98k miles, must be a record if true.

It just needs some patience, for me it holds onto the revs too long but has its merits when in traffic etc or the wife is driving!

Dublin, nice i'm working there soon, love the Guinness! :D

I'm working here too - hoping to get back to UK, too expensive here. Road Tax on a Maser is 1839 Euro a year! If the Garda get me I'm defo off!

The Gardaí might not get you but those awful Dublin pot holes are going to cost you a fortune in bushes, drop-links, shocks, rims and tyres :)

I pick my routes! Motorways an N roads are ok, if you don't mind the tolls when gadding about. Some horrible concrete ribbed roads in the housing estates though, sport mode is horrible on those, too hard.

Howth Road in Raheny is excellent, that's where I live while here.

Also didn't know you can override the auto box in auto mode with the paddles, (ie without being in manual mode) - the best of boast worlds!

Gangland murder on North Strand a few days ago. Drugs. Always two Gardai cars on Sheriff St, **** myself every day in case they pull me for UK plates, turns out they're watching the locals, Sheriff St being dodgiest locale in the centre.

There's an 07 QPV for sale in Bluebell, I test drove it, found it a bit 'lacking' in something, higher miles even than mine, dark blue/tan, 16k Euro, must be 5-7k of VRT on it to claim back on export tho UK if anyone fancies the risk..

What are you doing driving a Maserati around Sheriff Street anyway? They'll steal the wheels from it while you're still moving.

The Gardaí won't be interested in a UK plate, it's the customs boys you need to be careful of.

It's on my way in to IFSC from Howth/Sutton, can't really avoid it! There's always two Garda cars watching Noctors Pub on Sheriff St. Lower, nearly wandered into there once, I love back-street pubs that seem to have diisappeared from UK. Been told since it's not a pub you wander into...
