Battery - again

Just over 3 years ago I decided to replace the Varta battery fitted in the car when I bought it. I got an Exide with a 4 year warranty from click car parts on Ebay. It listed as 900 CCA compared to 830 on a Bosch. It has now failed and I can't get any response. Their phone no is always engaged land they appear to have loads of negative comments on Google.

Has anyone got a battery replaced or do they just credit you with the unexpired value?

Rather than messing about looking at S5 019 Bosch on Ebay I have just found it for £120 but also a Hankook 019 start stop with EFB technology SE59510 4 yr for £100.53. Any thoughts?

Bosch. Every time.

Try Eurocarparts "click and collect" service. It's often cheaper than actually walking in the door. Crazy.

I do this too, and i put the receipt under the battery so I know where it is and when I bought it, so if it conks out before the 5 year guarantee, I know where to go and i have the proof.

I write on top of the battery with permanent marker pen all details of warranty start date, years and where I got it.

Good idea to write the details on the top. It appears that 017 size has been replaced by 019 - the same size but a heavy duty version. I used my local garage to change the battery last time but decided to have a go this afternoon. Trying to get the fuse block off I didn't realise at first that the two screw red retainer clip needed to be taken off and then trying to get a spanner on the positive clamp was a ball ache. Then lifting and jockeying the battery out over the liner lip was another faff. Why didn't Maserati position the battery at the same height and make the removable panel the same rectangular shape !!!!!

After a delivery cockup from yesterday the new battery arrived today. First experience of Yodel delivery online update - showed me exact position of my home and the delivery driver on map and which drop off he was up to. Much easier than I thought to get it fitted. I used a couple of deck board offcuts on the boot floor as packers so that the new battery would easily slide over the liner upstand rather than having to lift it up.
