Battery disconnect

2010 Qp5, I'm struggling to find a way to lock the car fully, and disconnect the battery without the alarm going off once the battery is disconnected, any ideas? I've got a battery drain, not sure what's causing it, so need to do this in the meantime as I'm only using it every other week or so by which time a fully charged new battery is totally drained.
Cheers

Lock the door with the key. If you arm the alarm with the remote, it *will* go off when you disconnect the battery.

There are two buttons above the rear view mirror. When the motor is running press them one at a time - they will flash for about 2-3secs before stopping. When the ignition goes of the alarm is disable (used for ferry crossings etc) and then lock as Catman say with the key.

Cool thanks chaps, will try that, key method doesn't work as alarm arms when key is turned. Will try the other option tho!

Pretty sure that's volumentrics and motion only. So you can tow / leave the windows open (probably not on at the same time). If you try and open the door (for example) the alarm will still sound.

Equally sure that the siren will still go off when you disconnect the battery, but I stand to be corrected

yeah it does, unless the battery is totally drained, and whatever is keeping the alarm alive is also drained.

I had exactly this problem with my 2008 QPV, but the key method work for me. First unlock the car using the remote this disables the alarm, I was then able to lock it with the key or disconnect the battery without the alarm going off - maybe the facelift QPV is different?

That's really odd. How do you know it's arming?

turn key to lock in drivers door, light flashes, noise heard, disconnect the battery, alarm goes off 1 sec later... will try the disarm method as I didn't know about that. The battery is brand new and discharging in around 7-10 days, so not sure what's causing that at this point in time. need to use my portable battery booster to keep firing it up at the moment. Its not located near any power outlets so cant trickle charge it either. Gonna pop it down a garage tmr to let em have a look and do a few other bits on it too that need doing such as non opening fluel filler lid by the button, window regulator on one of them and some other stuff.
