Notice Eurospares don't list these in stock. Can they be had or is it clean up the existing ones?

Also notice speedo on the Spyder is reading about 10-15% low.
Was told there were magnets that provide the reading. Is this correct and is it possible that is the problem?
Not a lot of heat coming out air con but can get it to pump out cold. The temperature guage reads about 70 which seems low. Possible thermostat stuck open or just a typical Italian gauge? Lol

Cheers

Which calipers are you after, I have a set of ghibli abs fronts (and rears shortly too) if that is any use?

Possibly needing a rear offside.
Kits available to overhaul which may solve the issue but thinking ahead in case I need more than that. Looks like slight corrosion on the piston which may clean up.

Anyone know if the caliper is a part common to likes of Alfa? Looks quite like caliper of VW camper!

The calipers come from various sources, try posting a photo up to see if anyone recognises. My early car had calipers from an e21 BMW 3 series !! De Tomaso must have got a deal on them !! I've heard of Ford Capri calipers and Alfa too. They could also be Brembo units. Basically, no two BiTurbos are the same ! We got mine from McGraths, they did an exchange deal with reconditioned items.

Well at the moment smart money is on the calipers as being off a BMW 7 series E23!! (ATE we think)

Trying to source just now but one place advertising at £63 for a new caliper which if correct makes more sense than spending more on getting one refurbed.
Given one is playing up I will probably replace the other side as well as the rubber dust covers will be perishing with age.

The problem I've seen with calipers that appear the same is the masser mounting points are different. It might not be the same in this case, but I've found many calipers that take the same pad and look identical from the front (including BMW ones) but then found the position of the mounting holes to be slightly different. So best be careful and check to be sure.

Hi Rich,

Got original part number which coincided with after market part number but as it turns out they are made of unobtanium.
The people advertising calipers don't actually have any because they put on a £10 surcharge which is reimbursed when you send back your old caliper to them. However cost of sending the caliper is probably about £10 so no one bothers. So they don't have any to refurbish.
Cant even get the original BMW part as dealers no longer stock them.
Sent off the two rears to get refurbished and should have them back in next couple of days in time I hope to get some use while the sun is shining.
Well the top will be down even if the sun isn't shining!
