Well, my GS has gone in for a service at Migliore Cars in Bromsgrove (West Midlands) today for a 56k scheduled service, a few minor bits and bobs and an MOT.

First impressions are very good.

Vic turned up at 7.30 and showed me round the workshop which was has some nice Ferrari's and there was a 4200 on the ramps. It seems that they have all the diagnostics etc there so looks like they should do a good job. He then very kindly dropped me off at the train station so I was in work (in Birmingham) bang on time.

Haven't heard anything back yet and hopefully picking up the car later in the week!

Good luck Si hope nothing unexpected crops up, mine is in for the same on Friday, I have kept a little cash in reserve in case of any issues but if all goes well can spend it on a full detail and wheel refurb..... fingers crossed.

Adam,

On about 54500 at the mo - but thought it would be good to get it in for a full service now, rather than do an annual and then the scheduled shortly afterwards. Enjoyed the drive down there this morning - it was a shame when arrived as I could have kept on driving for hours! I do love this car when I get round to driving it...

Andrew,

Hope your service goes well and you don't need to dip into the reserve! It will be interesting to see whether any additional/same items need to be done on both cars in addition to the usual tasks.

Should be easier to sell once serviced Si...Plus harder for you after parting with cash...

I'm pretty indecisive. Sometimes I think I might still look at selling it in Spring, then I think I'll ditch my run about and press the GS into daily service.

The only problem is the more time I spend on this forum the more I keep looking at QPs..... So if I do sell my problem is that all the alternative fast 4 doors don't really get me too excited and for me that what a car should be. I've seen a few QP GTs (Duo Selects) for sale around the £25-28 mark recently which look quite interesting but I guess I need to take one out for a test drive to see whether I like it first. Of course if my numbers come up tomorrow, I'll get myself a GT.

Had already spotted that thread Parisien. Seems Enzo likes the Duo Select, which makes me think that the GT might be a good one to go for. I don't think I would be able to get the newer auto version as they are still pretty expensive. I think the only reservation I have is the size - I need to be able to turn it round on my drive way as we live at the end of a private road.

Just had a call from Vic at Migliore.

Looks like good news. The only additional things needed were new steering rack boots and at around 90 quid they aren't going to break the (my) bank. It's going in for the MOT tomorrow and hopefully I'll have it back on Thursday. If nothing else crops up then Maseratis are officially cheaper to maintain than Porsches (at least in my books)!

Enzo,

Glad you love your QP. Do you know whether the QP GT is worth the extra premium over the standard and what the difference is other than different alloys?

Difficult to answer Si...I never looked at the GT, or the later auto models as that is not what I was after...(bought mine in Marck 2009),
I do have one or 2 brochures on the QP range, can certainly scan some pages when I am back home and send them to you if you want...

Parisien,

Yes, a sigh of relief - you never know if you haven't heard anything for a while it is good or bad news!

Enzo,

Thanks for the offer - I may take you up on the offer later in the year, but at the moment I haven't really made up my mind what I am going to do regarding my current fleet.

Si, the GT was more than just wheels I believe..Think the suspension set up was diffiernet also.........But when it came out lots of reviews said they had spoilt the QP with the bigger wheels and changes. Most said standard car was better....Me, I would drive both and make your mind up that way..

Picked up my car from Migliore at lunchtime.

I have to say that I am impressed with the service I received and would certainly recommend / use them again. Vic kept me up to date with progress over the last few days and confirmed today that the car was ready for pick up as originally agreed. They certainly seem to know their stuff and was happy to go over all the things which they had done during the service.

Service included all fluids, new filters and spark plugs and they checked/adjusted geometry where necessary as well as sorting a few minor bits and bobs I had asked them to look at. On top of this, one of my tyres was going bald on the inside and it also needed new steering rack boots - so in the end the total was a little more than expected bit still seemed pretty good value and very competitive.

MOT was fine except for my indicator bulbs not being orange enough apparently! New bulbs fitted and good to go!

Looking forward to the drive home now...
