Car overheating

2008 granturismo. Car was overheating and 2nd electric fan was not turning on. I was first just going to change the resistor and fuse which I’ve heard have been replaced with new part numbers anyway. When I brought to my independent mechanic to change he claimed that it had a faulty thermostat too. So bough that too and thermostat sensors and replaced them as well. My issue now is he is charging me 8.5 hours of labor which seems excessive to something I’m reading online simple things and could have done myself. Can someone give me a ballpark to the hours this job requires? Or if anyone has a previous invoice for doing one or more of these jobs. Thank you.

The thermostat is a couple of hours. Resistor an hour. So it does seem a bit chippy. What did they quote?

Half an hour on and off the ramp, resistor 3 mins, thermostat a couple of hours, Coolant and bleed the system say another hour.

Having been in this situation many times, was it as simple as you say and were there other complications?
