For some strange reason the key fob will not activate the door locks to open, it disarms the alarm system OK but I have to put the key in the door and do it manually .the key fob will lock the car fine though ,I have tried a battery reset and have changed the battery's in the fobs but no change .Both key fobs are the same but in my stupidity when changing one of the fobs i lost the transponder so now I have one useless key fob .

any ideas ?

Check fuses and relays etc... Could be the solenoid in the door itself is sticking or doesn't have power when activated electronically. I think the key assists the solenoid hence why you can open it with the key.

Maverick, do the locks bounce at all if you try to unlock? Guessing not.

Is one of your handles stuck in an odd position? Either the chrome door handle or the locking switch?

This is a little unusual as normally they fail on *locking*, but I'm going to guess that the solenoid is on the way out. Might be worth lubing the lock first but it's worth having a couple read for when you strip the door down. They are cheap enough.

Nope no bouncing I'll try a bit of lube and check the handles etc , just seems odd it locks fine , when it first started doing it I tried the spare key and it seemed to be ok for a short while but this could of just been coincidence

I had my driver's door lock mechanism replaced at the last service, as it wasn't locking completely and would set off the alarm. My solution before the fix was key lock the car and not use the fob button.
