Considering FF

Thanks Iain. I will request a 458 drive when I go for the FF. Just to make a comparison.
I would be able to drive a two seat car so less (like may be 5-6 times a year) that this would justify me just getting an Atom!
I am nowhere near meeting HNW criteria so any finance I get would be definitely different to what you may have achieved.

I just got a quote on a Cali at 84k with £20k down £440 pcm. I quoted on the FF too and it was around a grand so yes higher deposit needed on that sorry.

That's very useful. Was that your first Ferrari? Did you replace it with another? What colour was it? Any must haves like pan roof? or lift?
My QP does get a lot of attention and I have certain "addons" which make it sound mental. And I like the cars to have a noticeable soundtrack.

I went back to Maserati after the FF. On the FF no need for lift and I didn't see the need for pano roof. Mine was Black and I think the FF is best in dark blue/black or grey. One thing is you can forget is that you are in FF as my daughter found out once when I drove it spiritedly! Everything behind the drivers seat seems to disappear...

That's interesting. I take it you are now in a QP GTS.

I am indeed...…..the choice set for 4 seat GT is limited.....
That is really very limited production in RHD and in terms of present in UK. I can't consider those as my current QP is a delight. And it would be pretty much a newer version of same car. Great choice of cars you have had. Very commendable.

It would be light years ahead of an early QP. The QP Sport GTS 10-11 cars are superb. Also a £100k saving from an FF.

On the finance, it depends how hard you push. Go to an independent. If anyone wants an intro to the chap I use then send me a PM. No affiliation, he just gets good deals. Some on here know what I got on my Vantage and it really is bloody good. Low APR, realistic balloon and monthlies at 70% what I was paying on the GTS. The GTS was the deposit.

If you do buy that FF make sure you get them to show you where the DVD loader is - it’s in the boot and a bugger to get to if you don’t know how! Good luck

I would love rear seat entertainment... who wouldn't want peppa pig blaring in your ears when you are listening out for the V12 roar...

For what it’s worth, if you’re after a big V12 and only want to put 50% down on an FF, I would ask you if you considered buying a clean 612 outright.
You can find nice ones for £75k if you haggle and buy it from a serious Indy, and Ferrari will sell you a warranty if you so desire for roughly £2500 a yr.
I personally think you have 90% of the fun, 10% of the worries that comes w buying into a gamble/balloon game. And financially, you won’t lose money on your capital - sure it’ll cost you to run, but probably no more than the FF at least.

That indeed is a lovely example. I had been looking at them for a long time but formed an opinion that they were very similar in tech to QPs of the same time. And the post 2008 ones with upgrades to software, suspension and steering do still command a hefty premium.
But as you say they do have most of what FF offers in terms of space, luxury and spec.
Financially definitely a good option. Can't see them falling again although I remember a few advertised below 50k about 3-4 years ago.

They did dip a bit 3-4year ago, but sub 50 were high mileage and not well maintained. Then again 4yrs ago, all Ferrari’s were cheaper.
If we face another major financial market adjustment, I still think the 612 will drop much less than an FF (and all new-ish Ferrari) in ££ terms - probably similar in terms of %
