Engine bay detailing

Just received a btl of the Gyeon Tyre Shine to try.
Do you guys actually remove the plastic cover panels when you do an engine clean up? Not had mine off before.
Make sure everything is clean and dry before applying Gyeon Tyre Shine. It's SiO2 based, so it needs to be bone dry to effectively bond.

Yes, I definitely remove the plastic covers. My OCD won't allow me not to clean every inch of the engine bay. It'll be easier to clean the top of the covers while it's still screwed in, then clean the underside when it's off.

I’ve used the C4 and it’s very good and lasts a long time. However I’ve found on smooth exterior plastics it tends to water spot.
I've applied C4 to my friend's wife's mini. Lasted 2 years, very good semi permanent solution. However, you have to get your prep work perfect. Ensuring it's super clean, and wiped down with IPA before applying.

I've not tried it, but I've seem pro detailers use a heat gun to bring out all the oils to the surface. Seems to be a permanent solution to faded black trim.
