F1 Pump on a Gransport or 4200

One of the main worries I have now that I have decided not to take the Maserati Extended warranty is the F1 Pump. I am taking the advice of Loz and replacing the relay once a year as a precaution always keeping a spare relay in the glove box. As I see it the pump is only likely to go if the relay plays up and the pump continues to run till it burns out. If the pump continues running shut off the ignition, disconnect the battery and replace the relay with the spare. This might just save the F1 pump.

Interestingly Loz told me that he has heard the F1 pump in the Maserati is identical to that of the Alfa Romeo Selespeed system which should make for cheaper replacement in the unlikely event it packs up.

The gospel according to Loz :)

UM, again as per the Conaero Ferodo thread....if we can absolutely nail down this as an equivalent OEM part....list all details of same plus cost...and put on a sticky thread too?

So.....1. details of relay....2. original F1 pump details...plus the apparent up-dated version(3.?), details of the Alfa one(4), ensuring it is exactly the same by a recognised authority as best we can, then post details of the refurb company Loz used and have all on one "resource" thread?
