Hi guys

Quick question before I dismantle the dash, can I check for broken/heat damaged wire from rev counter to coil Before I dismantle or is disassembly the starting point? Also is there a fuse for the Rev counter that might have blown (can't see one in the handbook)or am I being optomistic?
Thanks for your help so far

I think you are being optimistic amount the fuse as they are all shared, so a blown fuse would probably take the whole dash out and thinking about it the rev counter might be un-fused anyway. I think the route forward here is to take a reading from the back of the unit first as I recon it's your rev counter that has gone.

You beat me to it Matt.

All of the instruments share a common 12v feed and a common ground. If any instrument works, then the fault might be where the rev counter connects to the circuit board on the back of the instrument panel. These are prone to corroding so it will pay to take a look as this is where my money would be.

Otherwise, the rpm signal comes from Pin 4 on connector D on the ECU (in the drivers footwell to the right of the accelerator pedal.) and runs to pin 1 on connector D on the instrument panel.

The cable is coloured grey with a green tracer. I would think the issue is a broken wire if it is in this area.

David - PM me if you do not have the manuals and I'll set up a download for you. The Maserati electrical diagrams are easy once you figure out their quirky nature.

@arananollie: The rev counter in the Jaeger dashboard unit of the 3200GT(A) tends to blow up quite easily. I had this happen on my car as well and located a company that could fix it without too much hassle (for a figure of about 150 quid). Some time later I had a friend with the same problem, who then also sent off his unit to them. Unfortunately the root cause on his unit was completely different and it took the repair centre a lot of hassle to fix (but still they charged him the same price). So for about half the price of a second hand unit on eBay you can have yours repaired, usually with warranty on the repair.

Hello. My rev counter has stopped working for a period of time now.
Does anyone have access to a wiring diagram of the instrument cluster?
