I didn’t make in time so I had to park outside with many others supercars even around 3 pm when most cars where already leaving they didn’t allow any of us in. At least my boy had fun. I liked this event a lot but in the last few years it’s starting annoying me more than anything else. Not sure I’ll bother next year. I wished I had gone to Silverstone for the WEC.

It's only been going for 3 years :D

But that sounds a bit sucky, it must be said!

Echo the sentiments above, way too expensive to enter, food stupidly so, lay out was appalling catering for more corporate than enthusiasts, some of the cars left outside was astounding especially when some stands were half empty.

Someone said the high point were the Red Arrows flying over and they weren’t even prt of the event.

4 out of 10 for me.

That's one reason I did't go, I didn't enjoy last year but did the first year so it's been going downhill from the get go. Shame as it could be so good.

It's building up as an event, the racing was good. I paid £5 for a gourmet Italian meat burger with proper cheese on top in decent bread. It was bloody lovely, so much better than the dry bread donkey burger MSV were selling.
Had a good chat with Dainese people about airbag leathers for the street, Laguna with seamless gearboxes in Ducati motorbikes. Both a clear sign of recent advances in MotoGP filtering down to us mortals.
My only criticism is that the vendors didn't take cards.
Otherwise a great day out, lots of interesting stuff and company. It will build.

I enjoyed it but do agree with some of the sentiments above. It was badly organised and badly laid out, the MSV catering was appalling but the Italian food up the back was a joy, especially my deep fried Calzone pizza...a Naples speciality so I am told.

I enjoyed it and the racing was excellent and all for free for me. Will I go again next year...probably not, done it 3 times now and that probably enough.

A great day out though.

Really the ONLY reason? Not seen you at any weekend meet for a while.

Father Phil does weddings at the weekends. He's a man of the cloth these days. Word on the street is that once he's been ordained they'll be branching out into Supercarfunerals. So fast even the late aren't late.

Anyway, shame it wasn't a good event. Despite not having an Italian car I'd have been tempted but for the early start and the dashing about dealing with post-holiday blahblah, uni prep for the youngest and all that jazz.

Great to see fellow SM members but I didn’t think it was a great event and nowhere near as enjoyable as last year. I echo the sentiments above - not much to look at, very few food options and hardly any trade stands. There would have to be some big changes to tempt me back next year.

It was my first time at the event, so I can't comment on previous years, but IMHO I thought it was a good day out.
I've been to a few car shows, which after you've wandered through for an hour you've seen everything & if you want to hang around till 3pm there might be a 'fun dog show' or something.
I've also been to quite a few club racing events, where the only off track attraction is a solitary Burger van.
I thought this was a good balance, there was always something happening on track, with some close racing & in between lost to look at around the various club stands & Pits.

I know they are pitching it as much more than a car show or race day so I do see others point of view, as a festival of all things Italian maybe it was lacking as a full day out, especially if you weren't that interested in the racing.
Disappointing for those who couldn't get their cars in, & the early start would make it a long day for those displaying, but I do see why the organizers want vehicles parked before they open to the public, it only takes one knob in a 600BHP super car.....We've all see the fail clips on Youtube!!

I see even parked cars can cause a nuisance.

Hi All,

Newbie here with my first post (despite joining a couple of years ago).

I ventured over to Brands Hatch on Sunday in my 2007 Gransport on recommendation of a friend.

The missus and I had a great day out - mainly distracted by some beautiful looking cars. We stayed for a few races (Abarth and Ferrari classics were favourites).

Anyway nice to briefly meet Martin (and his red Gransport) & Matt too. They helped out with some ideas regarding a few ‘issues’ I’ve had with my Maser (which I’ve owned for 3.5 years).

Probably not the right place to post this but, I’d really like to get a full rundown of what I need to address various little issues on my GS. I get the feeling that I’ll need to replace a hub as the ABS & Suspension warning lights are constantly on. Do any of you know where I should post a request for someone to take a look local to St. Albans in this forum?

Cheers in advance!

Sangers.

Really good to see Chris (CatmanV2) and Graham (del mar). The racing was good fun and myself and Mrs GP spent a lot of time watching that, which was good. There do need to be more stands, more of a market feel would be ideal. The parade lap is on far too late in the day, we did it this year (didn't bother last year) but it was nowhere near as much fun as the first year when we went around the whole circuit not just the indy.

It was fun but I agree the organisers need to develop it or risk it drifting.
