I don't believe that you could achieve that level of finish on my car. I challenge you to prove me wrong.

Treat yourself, the Zymol Holiday pack containing Vintage and Destiny is very tempting...

Nice Job, but is the twelfth picture a special rinsing trick that only detailers understand.........

If the car has a wax or sealant on it the paintwork should sheet water easily. By rinsing with an open ended hose at the end the sheer volume of water will take a lot of water left on the surface from the power washer off. Basically it helps drying as there is much less water on the surface.

Thanks for that but not exactly what I meant :)

Yep it's actually possible to dry a car with water using the right technique, my mate Nick at DMC demonstrated it to me on the GTS after he had given it a correction detail and I was gobsmacked how effective it was, saves rubbing it with a horrible Chamois or towelling scratches into the paintwork.

Now I pay a professional valeted 20 pounds....he spends 3-4 hours on it, erects a gazebo over it if its raining, and gives the inside a clean too.
My wife thinks I am bonkers - but I think its worth every penny.

£5 per hour. He's not going to get rich out of that any time soon!

Wow thats looks a great job and a lovely car.

When I bought mine, I did the old Halfords thing, 3 for 2 etc, bought loads of cool stuff. Gave it one wash and valet, it looked great. It got dirty again and I thought f*** it, its cold outside.

I wish I had the patience and time to do it.

What £20???

I pay my guy £180.

Are you sure you haven't missed a 0?

Agreed its a very good price.
Bear in mind its a valet and not a detail.
He did you a Winter Wash and Wax for 80 - and he spent 5 hours on it under a gazebo.
Rarely in this day and age am I impressed with VFM, but with him I am.

Very nice car and finish! The link you posted for DW is Andy and he's a very professional detailer. I have and use Zymol Royale and quite lucky I have a very large wax collection, possibly one of the largest in Europe so if you are ever after a wax that tops Royale on Black Maserati Paintwork have a look for Kore Dark, google it and you will find it on Google Images. It's an amazing wax I've tested up against around 50 others and nothing compares in my opinion. Its around €1500 but worth it.

Thanks Marc, is the wax you recommend the one made by Chemical Guys?
