Formula Dynamics Brake Pads, and Stainless Steel Brake Lines

I just purchased a set of pads and SS brake lines from a private seller that are sold from FD. Now to be honest I didn't need the pads or brake lines. I have been eye-balling some stainless steel lines from a UK manufacturer that were really nice and decently priced. I purchased the FD ones because I received a great deal on them or I wouldn't have bothered.

So now here's the quagmire, not really that serious of an issue I guess. I already had front/rear pads from before that were the Thermo-quiet design. The front pads are painted blue, and the rear look like regular brake pads. I don't remember what I purchased them for or where I even got them. Believe me it's like that around my house. I end up buying things and then don't even remember where they came from.......anyway.

So two questions. I am going to sell the front and rear brake pad set I have for $100 (free shipping in the U.S. maybe $20 shipping for UK). Is that reasonable, considering the only thing I remember is they were Thermo quiet design (all of my brake pads are this or ceramic I cannot stand that brake squeal on any vehicle). I know they will fit an 02'-07' Spyder/Coupe or GS because the pads were all the same in the vehicle.

Second question, and I'm hesitant to offer this I have a lot going on at times. I don't know there might even be one I did not look. Should I record how to change the brake lines for the forum? I realize a lot of this, like the clutch, is something normal people should not be doing.
But, if there's a need for it, or desire I could possibly do it if I'm going to be under the car anyway.

Hi Craig,

I'd be very interested in a report on the changes these 2 items make, as I've heard the ceramic pads are dustless, which appeals to me, apart from performance gains. Both items are on my future spending list.

By the way, I'm a Red Sox fan too, even from Australia. One of my sons is playing div 1 NJCAA in Texas.

Regards,
Bruce

Okay great Adam, might sound selfish but it does take time to take photos etc. to post which expands the time for the modification/repair so now that I know they have one I don't need to cover it again.

@BL330 Ceramic pads are practically dustless, at least the dust isn't dark black, and I always use them for any car/truck with rims on it. It's great to know another Red Sox fan around the globe as well. Down South the only thing bigger than sports is religion! He must be really good playing Division 1 that's great!

Frankly mate, I think there's not much unusual about the SS lines. Pretty sure there's also a how-to already, but could be wrong

Your right Chris, other than saying you have them on the car. I think actual pedal feel is minimal, slightly noticeable, but the brake lines aren't going to increase stopping power. I got a great deal on them though so meh, why not right?

Oh I like having them. My lines were probably shot anyway so I got quite a good change in feel. Not exactly rocket science to change though :)

Chris, I think one of the things I try to curve with cars now after dealing with many different walks of life is not to assume everyone is mechanically inclined or even follow basic maintenance. Most won't say anything until it's too late. I appreciate that I have certain gifts and I appreciate that others have differing gifts. You probably will never hear me referencing how I operated on someone because it's not my gift. I also wouldn't expect to necessarily hear how a surgeon took brake lines off a car at least not without first being instructed. But I really respect the talents of the doctor, surgeon or other mechanics in their respective lives.

Fair call :)

I certainly bow to your talents in this area. I was talking with Voicey yesterday, as he was fettling my clutch, and the amazement of your taking the gearbox out on the drive was universal :)

Ahhh Chris no bowing necessary, that's all my point here. You and Voicey have talents that would be difficult for any to match that are outside your respective fields. I know it from following some of the threads and the determination you both have for things. If I told you how far I've come and where I came from you might not listen at all. I do appreciate the complement though.
