Hi
I've had the random engine light come on from day one. From reading various threads I wondered if the regular use of tesco 99 octane over the past few thousand miles was contributing to the problem.
I've tried the battery reset before but although it clears the light it always still shows the last total and daily trip in the dash display.
Today I left it off for 8 hours, left it running for 10 mins etc.
Is this normal? Is there a back up battery?
Have a lovely evening all☀️

I run mine on Tesco bog standard with no issues. No idea about the backup but there must be some kind of non-volatile memory to keep the mileage in...

I think there's a thread on here , about a replacement Lambda from a Valhalla car or something , same sensor different housing and price !

There's a thread somewhere on the net, where the problem was lambdas after an after market or sports exhaust was fitted, I'm sure they fitted a spacer to hold the lambda slightly further out, seemed to help. I'll try and find it, but think it was Mercedes and an American forum. The symptoms were the same, just blipping in, sort of borderline.

I have same problem with my car.
Suggestion was premium fuel and thrash it. Light still comes back on.
I have a sports back system fitted and I suspect that is the issue.
Yesterday ran an emissions test as Allan kindly plugged his OBD reader into my car which suggested cats were issue.
Passed the test although the Lambda reading was on the limit but still a pass.
Would be very interested in any experience with spacers or cheaper replacements though.
