Someone earlier suggested Audi TT.
I will go one further and say Audi TT Quattro Sport. They were only made for a bit less than two years.
They made 200 red, 200 blue, 200 black and 200 silver. All had black roofs.
They are now fetching seriously more than a standard Audi TT Quattro.

I agree about the original mark one TT.
10/15 years ago on every street corner, not any more.

It did amuse me however a couple of years ago at a local classic car show and I was parked next to an original mark one TT, standard 225BHP.
Very tidy, however the owner claimed it was worth £20K!
Bit of a dreamer.

Yes he was dreaming. A good Quattro Sport one is now fetching north of 10K unless it has been modified.

I think hairdressers are getting paid too much nowadays!

I had a look at A80 Supras the other day and couldn’t find a turbo below £20k.

As I understood it, the Audi TT Mk1 is a sh1te box courtesy of serious chassis failings...!

Have to disagree. At the time the steering was criticised for being a bit dead but compared to many current offerings they are compact and good fun.
Bought a 72k miles 225 version 2 years ago and sold it last year with 80k miles for a third more than I paid for it. Not many nice ones left now. I think the sport version has increased to the point it will soon peak.

Fair play..I just remember Clarkson slating them for being rubbish, and little more than a fancy VW..>! :D

With respect to the point about driving the cars...I dont disagree..

There is the aspect of maintaining them though... It is often not helped by moth balling the vahicles...Driving them is fine if thats your bag. But Im back to "champions"...People need to hoard" something they see as special for some reason...and in this way, it is still here for future generations, as some sort of reference. Driving them 'til they drop doesnt do that....?

Bought my Audi TT Quattro Sport with the standard race seats in it. First thing I did was buy a pair of leather TT seats and change them. The race seats were too tight on me and hard to get in. I kept the race seats in the house under wraps so they don't deteriorate so the future buyer of my car will get both.
I also changed the steering wheel and the gear knob. The original Sport ones are Alcantara and I can but imagine the germs sticking in them both. They were impossible to clean properly so I treated the car to brand new ones. So much better.
The car is an absolute dream to drive, like a go kart on rails.

I had a Mk1 Golf 1600 GTi that I owned and used for Special Stage Rallying for a 20 year period.
Fantastic simple and pretty tough on gravel and tarmac.
Apart from being stripped out I was running twin 40 Weber Carbs and rear disc brakes with adjustable bias.
Had 112 BHP from the 8 valve motor and so reliable putting many smiles on faces for what it could do.
Would certainly have another :)
If you can find it post up the video I took at the Fat Albert Stages Phil, sure to put some smiles on peoples faces on here!
