Does your car have an old Rover V8..

Dave
yes, so many hours of meaningless manual labour ahead!
Wasn't the seat fixed in the Marcos and the pedal assemby moved? I tried a 3.0l Volvo one once, in orange/gold metal flake!
it is, and it's very comfy too, apart from the noise. Oh and the heat. So only two problems heat and noise. And the leaks. It's has only three problems, the leak, the heat and the noise. And the inability to see into corners....bugger I'll come back in shall I

I had the same decision to make when I looked at the 4200. I had 2 almost identical cars to choose from one CC and one manual.
After lots of investigation came to the conclusion I could live with either. Longer clutch life (the way I drive anyway) on the manual was a big attraction but at the end of the day fact is there are many more CC than manual because that is what the buyers wanted and still want.
I felt I might struggle to move a manual on eventually. Maybe not though.
Have to say knocking her down 2 or 3 gears and listening to the bangs and crackles through the straight throughs is the one factor that would keep me with a CC now!

Bangs and crackles you say, lovely.

My heart says CC but my sensible old school mechanic head says manual. Given the number of CCs about I'm sure that's what I'll end up with and I'm sure I'll be more than happy with it.

3200 would have been great if they fitted an accelerator pedal rather than an on-off switch! ;)

Don't rule out the 3200 mate! Forced induction all the way.

I hadn't really considered the 3200. Hmm, turbos again? more worry <groan> It would leave me some change to play with. I'll add them into the search and see what's what.
About that passenger ride......

Lol very true, but boy when the twins kick in it is like a hooligan, a proper schizoid car which is how I like things!

No more than the B5 RS4 with a remap Mike. As said if you want to meet somewhere or come along to a meet and have a drive feel free.

The 3200 Twin Turbo lump in the QP IV is surprisingly lag free, you just get a massive shove as the turbos spin up and the horizon suddenly races towards you.

But I love the 4200 CC, the seamless power is less abrupt and more predictable and the CC box certainly makes the most of its endless torque.
