@conaero any chance that SI will be offering these at all?
Anyone else know of an off the shelf supplier that isn't £1500-£2k?

Cheers

I couldn’t find anyone reliable. Larini took an order for me but never delivered so cancelled it after waiting 3 months. Have you called rtec? They tried quite hard to source downpipes for me (they tried larini who weren’t interested, again!! And then were looking at armytrix).
I ended up getting a custom exhaust place to fabricate both the x pipe and the downpipes. Ended up cheaper than the off the shelf units especially as the price included fitting.
I think it was approx £650 fitted for the x pipe.

Far more reasonable. Just potentially more trouble than I want to commit to, if that makes sense.

Thanks for the input!

A good local fabricator can make one easily. There is a centre resonator - like many other Maserati - that is easy enough to chop out and replace. You don't need a Larini or Remus part, it's just some pipes.....

I know. But it's much quicker (for me) to get a pre-made X-pipe delivered and get it installed, than find a local decent fabricator and wait while it's made, if that makes sense?

I think you just need two short tubes, haven’t they already got an x-pipe on the petrol?

Look separate to me. Cut the box out, weld in two tubes. Job done.

Oh I thought you meant already two separate parts.

Yes, I could get that done. It would still be quicker and easier *for me* to have a pre-made part that can just be delivered and installed. I feel I may be repeating myself ;)

what is better option for replacing a resonator on either V6 or v8 - straight pipe or X-pipe?

If you remove the x, you change the design and reduce purging. You can certainly use straight pipes, but *personally* I wouldn't want to do it
