I have noticed that every time the car is started, there are 5 muted (kind of faint) beeps after couple of seconds of starting. It seem to come from the instrument cluster. No messages and no other out-of-the-ordinary things happen during start-up. Does anyone know what these beeps are about?

Mine is the same. Don't use it either. Been told it is the battery, but it doesn't cause an issue.

Try parking it in gear with the handbrake off. I think you dont get 5 beeps then on start up.

If i remember correctly you then get 5 faint beeps when you turn the car off and no beeps when you turn it on except when below 3 degrees when you get 3 beeps if you park in gear with the handbrake off.

Park in neutral with the handbrake on and you get the 5 beeps to warn your in neutral.

Nah not mine. I am driving out the garage most times when it does it. Plus MC so always in gear when off and park off always when in garage

The only other things i can think of that beeps are the tracker which is also 5 if your fob hasnt been picked up by the car and 3 beeps if it has been read by the car as present as i understand it.

I think the memory seats can also beep if they need a reset. Low temp / ice warning being another.

Mine comes from passenger side above glovebox. Very quiet. Not even sure if the fob is in the glovebox tbh.

Mine does that as well. I'm pretty certain it's the tracker although my subscription has lapsed as well.

As I said at the start, the Navtrack is telling you it can't detect your RIF card. If the system still works, even if not subscribed it will do this.

Thanx @safrane....sounds quite mundane, right?

Presumably, this doesnt drain the battery or cause other issues. I tend to put the car on a trickle charger anyways, when not used for a week or so...
