GT - Irritating Squeak

Hi all,

Has anyone experienced an irritating squeak coming from rear drivers side. I'm convinced it's from the inside, potentially near the B-Pillar?

I initially thought it was the suspension bushes, but the noise seems to be coming from the inside, and at a higher level l. When I put the window down the squeak is not coming from the outside.

It get louder going over bumps but it can disappear for weeks without reappearing. Occasionally there's a sound like a screw is loose and rolling around near the B-pillar or side speaker.

Any ideas please?

I would check the clips on the headlining for hanging your jacket on and make sure it has broken. There is nothing behind the b-pillars other than the push on clips that hold them on and wires.

Unfortunately to get behind the trim it means taking out the rear seats and working your way up, including removing the rear shelve. I did this when I recoloured my alcantara b-pillars.

Let me know if you would like to know how to take them out. Happy to give you some guidance.

My understanding is that it's due to the rear suspension mount where it connects to the body. There was supposed to be grease on the surfaces which would stop them squeaking. I had it for a short time but it went away by itself

I have the same thing. I suspect it is suspension related. Usually noticable on uneven roads or cornering. I suspected my sway bar bushings but those have been greased and cleared. Will have my specialist look at it when she goes in for MOT march/april.

Glad I'm not alone with this one. It's so irritating because it comes and goes.

I'm certain the noise is coming from inside the cabin. However, nothing seems to be broken or loose. I did read somewhere on this forum where someone had a loose rear speaker, which was the source of their squeak.

The suspension mount and door latch were greased on Saturday whilst having it's major service. Fingers crossed that horrendous squeak seems to have gone away now ...............

Hi all, reading this I have a similar issue as I have a rattle when going over bumps and uneven road surfaces. It’s coming from the passenger side door but towards the b pillar.

It’s interesting that when the window is fully open the sound disappears!
Perhaps it’s the window mechanism?
I’ve also noticed the the window alignment has slighlty changed as it sticks slightly when opening the door.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Try some seal feed* on the window seals, or some graphite to lubricate the seals. You never know, if it's the window squeaking on the seal it might do the trick.

I had two different noises. A rattle and a squeak.

The rattle was from my window regulator which finally went to the grave yard. The squeak looks to have been from the suspension mount, which were greased and seems to have solved it.

It could be the Window mechanism yes, as the rattle stops when the window is fully down.
Hopefully it can be adjusted without replacing anything!
Thanks for your help
