Hello from sunny (?) North London.

I'm in the early stages of buying a 4200 and I was sent here by Harsh. I currently own a Hawk Strato's stradale replica which tries to kill me at every opportunity. This is mainly due to my lack of driving ability, rather than the car's inherent skittishness.

I'm looking to use the 4200 as a daily driver.

I got interested in buying a 4200 after I caught sight of a Ghibli GT last year at an Ace cafe Petrolhead Nirvana meet. I began researching the model with a view of buying one. However, it soon became clear to me that the 4200 would be a better choice.

So, that's why I've joined up. I'm actively looking for a car. My first viewing is on Thursday morning. I hope to spend many a happy hour on here and I look forward to meeting some of you in the future.

Hi Blib , welcome to the forum, for sure your at the right place to start your journey into maserati ownership , im sure there will be a selection of cars for you to peruse over at Ace we generally have a good turn out , , loads on here under the running reports threads buying guides what to look for etc etc. Be sure to ask any questions you might have wev'e all been there at some stage , An idea of your budget might be helpful so as to point you in the right direction

Re the stratos interested to hear about it , always been a Fiat/Lancia man myself , most on here are Alfa orientated , some pics of the Stratos would be good , and are you looking to sell it , i could well be interested look forward to hearing more.

Hi Blib and welcome, really envious of the Hawk I've considered one in the past I don't care what they drive like they look like a Stratos and that's good enough for me, but as most have the glorious Alfa V6 I'm sure they drive pretty well.
4200 makes a great daily driver and you I'm sure that you would love it. Does your budget stretch to a Gransport? if so you should consider one.

Best of luck
Andy

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Here (hopefully) is a photo of my Hawk.

She's fitted with an Alfa 24v V6 . She's great fun to drive. I smile whenever I get into her. I won't be selling it any time soon. :)

My budget will hopefully buy me a well sorted 4200 but I don't think that I can stretch to a Gransport.

I would second that Scousegit......4200 makes a great every day car but the Gransport has the dege on sportiness and thrills if the budget allows. Blib look at a few cars before buying and ask here on the forum or do some research before buying. Maseratis are great when you get it right so do your homework before committing

Welcome Blib, great to have you on board and that is a very nice piece of kit. Shame you cant stretch to a GS, they are well worth it, but the 42's are fab also. Alot prefer the interior of the 42.

Yes, that episode is a very sore point over on the Stratos forum. It almost destroyed the club.

As for the meet up North (anything North of Watford is 'up North' to me :) ) unfortunately, I'm busy tonight. But I will be looking out for other meets arranged on here.

I'm off tomorrow morning to check out a car. Just to get my eye in. It's an early, pre-facelift model.

However, knowing me, I'll be trying to persuade myself to buy it. That's why I'm taking a sensible friend along with me to reign me in.

:)
